I like your idea, but the Democrat party will NEVER split...Their first interest is in power, which they will never regain if they splinter. So for all the differences they have, they will just continue to "suck it up" and seek to regain what they seem to think is their birthright.

If they didn't split in '68, they're not gonna do it now.

I think the Democrats realize what you and I do, that the leftist wing is going to keep them OUT of power. Yes, they have done everything they can to stay in power - but none of it has worked very well lately.
