Security, Customer Service, and a Work Ethic

you're right on

The problem stems from political correctness and the next generation (after my 30-something generation) holding this attitude of being owed something. Forget about working hard to achieve anything, people have been so coddled and we're so afraid to grade children and allow winners and losers that a society of people have emerged who've had everything handed to them. There's no reason for them to try because we don't hold them accountable (we being society). The schools encourage mediocrity by being afraid to let some excel while others fall behind.

It's rampant in our schools and in our workplaces. We're afraid to fire someone for poor work habits and showing up late because they happen to also have a certain feature about them that they could easily find some lawyer to sue you for discrimination even if your assessment was based purely on their performance, or lack thereof.

Thanks, Kim

Appreciate your comments. It is truly lamentable to me the culture of entitlement that pervades our society. Thanks for your kind words.
