We could call them Progressives, (not bound by authority or tradition)
or
Deficrats (Taken from the verb deficate meaning, well, you know)
or
Communists, Socialists, Fascists, Oligarchs, Elitists, Statists, etc.
Or just plain "Fools".
I'll have to think about it a little bit.
I agree though, Liberal is not appropriate at all. Jefferson would not approve.

I like deficrats. Yours?
I back away with progressives as it also had a double meaning even back then. Almost no one was "constitutional conservative" as we know them now in TR-Wilson era. The original Republicans were, and that dominated in the popular culture until around 1900. TR was almost fanatically pro-America, but in a robust big stick sort of a way, cultural more than ideological. No Ben Franklin's bending his ear. Still, hardly a progressive by today's standards, or ever Wilson's.
I've used ModLib for years, and like Muggerdidge consider myself an old liberal in many social ways, being from the old Civil rights days, which more or less defined us.
I'd like to see Limbaugh drop it and come up with an easy-off-the-tongue universal name.
Maybe you should suggest a contest w/ Mr Limbaugh?
Thanks,

Actually, my "more conservative than me" wife came up with "Deficrat" to describe Hillary.
I'll mention it to Rush.
