Why exclude military from "smaller government?"

because I'm busy, but I think you could use a bit of educating.

Um... military is one of the very few uses of federal government actually allowable by the U.S. Constitution. So while corruption and human weakness is apparent in all areas of power and government, the military is ONE organization that is condoned by our founders, that we should keep, so we continue to exist as a nation.

And I'm sure there IS too much bureaucracy in the current military; they are not immune to weakness, either.

Maybe if we cut those wasteful, incompetent programs like welfare and education, which would be better administered by the private sector, we'd be able to streamline our efforts and notice govt corruption and abuse and deal with it.

You can't notice problems in government and deal with them because the deepest problems are human nature. My goal here is to point out conservative inconsistency.
