Our “fortunes”

I think I understand your feeling regarding our military. But I do not share them for reasons, which I find “hard” to explain here. The role of the military in US internal affairs is so miniscule that it’s not even worth it to bring this topic up for discussion.
What we really have to look forward to is an initiation of a dream of the chosen one. A dream about self-sustain pseudo-government organization built with military standards in mind. It will consist of the youth sitting in your class right now…… Needles to say it will be armed with real guns. Such an entity won’t have any constitutional restrains to operate inside the Country. More so!!! It will have all the backing of our beloved Constitution; (you guessed it right) 2nd amendment!!!
And regarding our military --- it will be downsized and sent stationed all over the World, but here.
This is as far as I can “go”! It won’t happen overnight. I would give it 5 to 6 years.

PS I like your blog. So I decided to post something for you mess with. Keep your chin up. It is not over yet.

Fine print threat

Someone likes my blog!

That's two of us! :-)

One of my members of CAN had brought up the concern that the military might be used against us. That's what "caused" the article.

I recall President Barack Obama's comments during the pre-Presidency campaign about his desire for an internal police force "as well armed as the military." Few people seemed to notice and his media outlets pretty much ignored it. It's a frightening thought, but he hasn't mentioned it lately and I've been hoping that he's been too busy dismantling the country through other vectors while he still can.

One troubling thought is that the establishment of such a force could end up buried in one of these bills no one seems to have the time to read. In fact, all manner of terrible things could be incorporated into these "forest-for-the-trees" bills and we wouldn't know it until "Surprise, surprise! I just took your country away from you!"

This is why I keep asserting that we can't wait until 2010 to begin acting. We must get the attention of the "vulnerable" Socialist Democratic Congressmen via focused email bursts as I've proposed.

Thanks for your comment, Michael.

Just a thought

Don’t mention it. I see the real “pain” in your writings.
I know, you are hurting (and not just you) seeing our Country’s future getting less and less brighter. That is why I decided to write something and correct your deductive way of thinking. Usually I am just a casual observer.

Unlike you and friends of yours I have a first hand experience, should I say --- overwhelming…, with regard to a bunch of “things” still to come, still to be introduced here in US if it continues to follow this path.. I am less optimistic, than the silent majority, and I am really afraid for the “future” of my kids! Realistically speaking, they will have a future. But it’ll be different from what you and I, and others are implying.

The only question I am asking myself today. Do we really want to look at our kids the way other fathers looked at their’s in Germany many, many years ago? To some extent we can put ourselves in place of so-called “tree huggers” to experience that crippling effect upon realization of a loss of a tree or a caribou. Of course there will be another tree, and another animal, a bit deferent though. Or, maybe not!!!
I could only wish for everyone in a Country to go through this “experiment”. We just need to change some specs and priorities; replace these trees and caribous with business rules and constitutional rights respectively.

I got too philosophical nowadays. Probably getting old…..

Fear is the mind-killer.

I have told some of my students that they will not know the same freedom I did. As I suspect you've sensed, my writings have only touched upon the actual fear I experience when I consider our future. Our system of government is supposed to provide peaceful ways to correct the sort of problems we face and I have been raised to believe in my heart that we must explore every single one...first.

The problems we face are so many and so varied that it's nearly impossible to decide which should have priority over the others. Worse yet, many, if not all, are closely coupled so that the galloping socialism is destroying an already desperately ill economy that depends heavily upon an environment that is showing signs of stress we don't really understand yet... and so on. I believe that there are solutions to all these problems, but the people in position to make the needed changes are truly venal and are placing their own, short-term interests ahead of the nation's.

I just spoke on the phone to a dear friend of mine who lives in Edmonton, Alberta. We have not talked in a very long time and so we had to catch up. Among the topics was socialized health care. She agreed, the dire examples we are using to argue against socialized health care do happen, but, well, they don't happen often enough to stir the Canadian citizens to change the system. She's not sure they could, but that's beside the point. The remaining facet we can't minimize is the cessation of research into new drugs. America is the last remaining place where the costs of development can be recouped. Remove that incentive and what we have now is what we will have in the future. No cure for my arthritis, my diabetes, my heart disease, my neuropathy... Well, gee. That'll make my golden years just marvelous.

End part 1

Fear is the mind-killer.

The solutions seem so obvious to me. But I don't see the future getting any brighter. Freedom is easy to give away, but deadly costly to regain. The cost is always blood.

It will, however, resolve my retirement concerns.

The one upside to all this seems to be that Americans are gradually relearning what it means to live in a participatory republic. Participate is the key word.

Please, (insert deity of choice), don't require us to learn the lessons of history again. The cost is too high and we paid it once.

The both of us are getting too old, I think, Michael.

Fear can only agitate...

Not that long ago a group of folks was asking me almost the same array of questions you come up with from time to time. It just happened to be around a cup of hot tea…..
They were really surprised with my way of approaching this whole “situation” in this great nation of ours. To the extent, that one lady called “Rush” and told him about me.
Thank G-D, without naming me and delving into my “thoughts”. I am not ready for the lime-light!!!
I can’t go into details (too much of info for somebody’s “hard drive”). I can only tell what others already started saying on TV and on the Radio. And you heard it all already. Unfortunately they started doing it too late!!! We are going to see our society streaming down towards a very simple form of governing --- dictatorship. Although people do recognize some drastic changes, they still can’t see the difference. But there is a difference between the economic system and system (form, structure) of the government. When they discuss socialism, capitalism, communism, fascism, by mistake they assume them altogether with the governance, as a whole. Totally wrong approach!!! Both entities must exist separately, but with one condition ---- either by complementing each-other (Chile, USA, …), or leading to destruction (qualitative change), which we may call non-sustainability (European nations, USSR, …..). Without going any further I can say, that a Country is moving towards Dictatorship. And it doesn’t matter what kind of economic system we are going to have. The freedom will be gone by then!!!

Yes. I am doom and gloom kind of guy. But it is very seldom, when I was mistaken.

Fear can only agitate..... (2)

Just to give you some ideas about my so-called “logic”.
N-Korean problems!
We know that China has its grip over them (let’s assume this….). More than 3 month ago they told great One to stop spending their money. He responded – it is none of your business, we are doing the right thing, just cover our expenses (deficits …..). What is China to do? They know, he is in love with himself and the Nation odors him. Right?
Let’s give him something to worry about and make him run for this “love”.
Hence N-Korea starts its dirty work, one launch after another, nuke explosion. Berchik has to solve this problem and show to the “World” who is in command. He asks Beijing to help him. The answer --- We want you to stop spending our money; Stop your projects and we’ll stop out little friend. So, what did you see in a past few days? Hillary went to China, came with nothing, and later this weasel Geitner had to go over there for the same reason. So far, Ben started saying about future problems with additional taxation because he had to stop printing presses on orders from the Great One. Just to remind you. N-Korea has already prepared another missile for launch. BTW, I uttered most of this stuff about 15 days ago in a company of my friends. But even Chinese have problems with persuading the One. Why? The press is covering up everything for him. There is nothing to stop this guy. Therefore ---- dictatorship.

PS Am I really getting old? What do you think?
I purposely gave you Chile as an example ---- Capitalism and Dictatorship!!!!!

Pause

((Heavy sigh))
It was the last day of school with the students. I am so running on empty I just tried to operate the TV set with my mouse, growing gradually angrier with each passing second that it refused to respond.

Allow me to give you a sentient answer this weekend! I still have to pack my room for the summer.

take care, Dave

I awaken

Michael, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you promptly. Those were the last few days of the school year and, especially since I have many seniors, things got seriously nuts. I'm afraid I was in sleep-work-eat-repeat as needed mode for a few days.

I see now that I would have made a terrible Congressman. What you propose, while it has the sense of possibility for me, is much too byzantine for my poor math teacher's mind.

I have wondered, until now privately, if President Barack Obama is the actual Manchurian Candidate, but, even if that's the case, nothing can be done without violence. In my brighter moments, I still hold out hope that sufficient numbers of Americans will awaken to what is happening and stage a voter's revolt in 2010. In my darker moments... Well, that will settle my retirement concerns.

I have also noticed a tendency for the President to operate under a Propose-Listen-Recoil sort of scheme where he seems to react to negative press. He doesn't like it when the government-owned press offers up negative opinions. If he's reacting like this, one wonders how the Democratic Socialists in Congress will react to voter input.

I realize I'm beating heavily on this drum, but I still believe that this project is important. We can have an impact.

Dave

What should be the ..... answer?!

David,
Sorry for not writing right away. I am busy tending to my very sick father.

So…. What should the answer be? I don’t think people really understand the meaning of the word “violence”. Majority of Americans look at it through the prism of imagery loaned over to them by Hollywood and really dependable (by the WH standards) media.

I don’t think populace is ready for the real thing now and even in the future. It will take a huge effort by the “ruling party” to achieve such results. I think that Berchik & Co. will never allow this to happen on their watch. There is always this breaking point in the state of “public mind”. To some extent it can be predicted by his handlers, and therefore averted. But let me tell you, that if during the next election cycle Nation’s decision comes down to a chad near you --- everybody has to get ready for a big surprise. But again, I don’t think anyone will allow that to take place!!! It is not Iran. No cop will be shooting at the demonstrators with live ammo and even more dangerous, he will join the ranks. So, there will be no chad on the ballot!!! Here in the US election perverts can do wonders…. Enough said.

Get some rest. Fight will only start in 5 to 6 years from now (I think I mentioned it somewhere already in context….), if ever.
I wonder if I can help you with your “dream”. I don’t have the money, but I have an expertise and understand the game of “chess”.

PS My younger son just finished sophomore grade in HS. I totally understand you.
