Thoughts on I Corinthians 2:6-9…

I Corinthians 2
Because I subscribe to the scripture I find it implausable that Christians should be involved in world government. Oh yes, render to Ceasar what he's due as we have been instructed, but otherwise we should not touch the unclean thing.
It takes little time to see that the Master himself was insulted when they came after him to pay taxes. Should the Son of God pay homage to an earthly ruler?
There is absolutely no way that a Godly person can bathe in the filth of the world all day and night and not get dirty. I have never seen a clean person and a muddy person come physically in contact with each other where the muddy person became clean by the contact.

Questions for Nick
Thanks for comments. A couple of questions for you.
1. Does not Romans 13 teach that human government is ordained by God for our good? Then why should we not participate in its function as citizens? Did not Paul exercise his right of Roman citizenship in appealing to Caesar?
2. What then is your take on the colonial American Christians who established liberty and religious freedom in their rebellion against the king?

some of the greatest OT blessings came from those serving in governments yet witnessing to God; Daniel in Persia, Joseph in Egypt, David in Israel,
to name a few.
