Our Entitled President

Andrews: Food for Thought

"My thought is, he doesn't want to create a socialist US, he just wants "to be president", but to stay in office, he has to "do something", and given his political beliefs, that "something" tends toward socialism."

From Obama's viewpoint, I agree with your above statement.

From the "One-World-Government" and Socialist types who pushed his election, perhaps their desires were alittle more dangerous.

Gray Ghost

Yes, those around him may have completely different aspirations, and may have attache to him to enact their own agendas. But from his perspective, I really think he doesn't have much in the way of definite convictions other than the belief that eh deserves to be president, deserves to be famous, and deserves to be adored by millions... I have to wonder if, after his presidency, he will show a Carter-like need to stay in the public eye, and, when his fame wanes, he will suffer some sort of meltdown. He just seems the sort who needs the applause, and when "ex-President" doesn't bring the adulation he expects, it might have unpleasant consequences.

But that is just speculation. It is never a good idea to attempt to look into the minds of strangers, so I will just stop there and label the whole thing a pure guess...

Andrews, that's about as good a

summary of our "WPOSIC" (Worthless Piece of S*it in Charge) as I've seen. I believe that you're spot on.

Andrews

Thank you, sir. You see through the man. He seems to be wearing a smiling mask, and his words are full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. (A better writer beat to that one.) It would please me if he could read what you said, and understand it. Not a chance on either score. Keep up the good work. Verne.

Thank you both for the kind words. Apologies for replying to both of you in one post, but since you both were so kind in your appraisal of my work, I figure you would not mind if I thanked both of you at once.

I don't know why I didn't see it sooner, but this just came to me yesterday. I suddenly noticed that Obama wasn't so much heading in a specific direction a she was just "being president" and following his implicit ideology in making quick, off the cuff decisions.

Now, as I said to Gray Ghost, those around him may be more ideological, but Obama, I think he really is just a man who thinks he should be president, but has no clue what he should do once in office.

The man is ...

a community organizer. I think to truly understand him, one must study community organizing here in the U.S. in earnest -- the good, the bad and the ugly.

Mrs. Al

I think you may have found one of the reasons his default solutions are always socialist. His time as a community organizer definitely gave him a socialist outlook. Then again, we also have an Ivy League education and time with Rev. Wright, both of which played a part as well.

But you are right, there is clearly an orthodoxy among most, if not all, community organizers, and Obama is a good example of that orthodoxy.
