Pizza Chain Takes Pesos, Stiffs Minorities

Deliveries?

They still have to pay an employee to go to Wells Fargo to make the exchange. Wells Fargo does not make deliveries.

Your suggestion that they are taking the pesos from women and minorities is dishonest. Shame on you. Those people are free to decide whether to buy pizza or exchange their currency. The restaurant does not "take" it from them.

Same old lies

Nothing new here from your type. These people are being taken advantage of by the business. They are clearly being overcharged for the exchange. The shame is on the part of the company.

It's highly unlikely the franchisees are hiring a new employee just to take the pesos to the bank. Most likely the owner is doing the transferring, that's generally how it is for franchise owners.

Your objection to the post is denied for foolishness. Try again.

Is it even legal..

...to exchange goods and services for foreign tender?

Your "law" link did not work.

Dave, typical, get a sense of humor. I'm more disappointed that "children" wasn't listed along with "women and minorities" as well.

Link

Thanks JC, I'm not going to worry about the link, I don't think there were many stories about this on that tag anyway.

I don't know of any specific thing that would bar companies from accepting anything in payment, excepting humans or gaming chips and tokens. No one can refuse to accept Fed Res notes as payment, but I think they might be able to refuse coin.

The fact that this chain is rather far from the border leads me to believe it's not taking pesos for any other reason than to build up their illegal alien clientele. They wouldn't do it if they weren't making a significant amount of peso transactions, and at $1+ a head, they could be profiting rather well, despite Dave's thoughts.

Again

Customers are free to decide what to do with their pesos. If they find it more convenient to spend it on pizza than to make the extra trip to the bank to exchange it for dollars then it's their decision. The customer is free to make their own decision.

Your opinion is typical of anti-business liberals.

Try reading my blog

You'll see I'm anything but an anti-business liberal. What I don't like is the fact that they claim to be working from motives of "purity" when it's obvious that they are not servicing Americans who've returned home with a few pesos. They are catering to their illegal alien base. They are also overcharging on the exchange rate to them. They know the illegals won't know the difference and they can make profit on it. That's what I don't like. Their motive isn't pure, it's to make money on those who are afraid to complain.

Not Servicing Americans

Their motive is as pure as any business. They want to make money. How is that bad?

If they are overcharging, then their customers have the option of converting their pesos and making their purchases in dollars. I've already explained this.

But you don't listen

Thanks for reading. Most illegal aliens really don't want to interact with companies such as banks because of reporting requirements. Who says the aliens know what the exchange rate is? What I'm talking about is the fact that the company claims to be doing this from purity of motive, I don't buy it. And I'm not anti-business.

SHARP SHOOTER...

TAlk about being a major player!

Outstanding...

"Wells Fargo account holders are charged nothing to process a forex transaction. Oooops! Non account holders are charged $5 per transaction for any amount. Oooops again!

LOLOLOLOL

thanks SG.

But The Real Question Is.....

...do they use trans fats in their food?

To heck with the fact that Pizza Patron is openly catering to criminal elements (people who stole into this country are explicitely part of their target market).

To heck with the fact that they are undermining our currency, a long established tactic for undermining any government.

To heck with the fact that the soulless corporatists don't give a rat's rear end about our nation's borders or its sovereignty.

To heck with the fact that this could serve as a perfect model for stings if we had an Immigration Service worth one centavo?

The real question is when big brother will come down on them for serving food that's not healthy.
