A VERY Unwelcome Endorsement (I would think!)--by: Michael A,. Minton

What exactly will Mitt get done?

He did not turn around MA when he was Governor - he conformed and pandered to it. Now he's conforming and pandering to the talk show hosts and bloggers on this site telling them what they want to hear. He's changed a lot apparently in order to get elected. But how's he going to beat Hillary?

The Clinton's actually helped to turn around China's huge economy, giving and selling them technology and stuff! How does his record as governor of MA, or even turning around the Olympics compare with that?

Now in all fairness, one of Mitt's companies, Bain Capital is making some moves in China too...

But don't you get the feeling that Mitt is kind of emulating the Clinton's, following their lead, instead of leading with his own ideas? I mean, his healthcare plan isn't that different than Hillary's. His record on abortion, gay marriage, and appointing liberal judges doesn't seem much different than her agenda either. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, I guess.

It kinda does make McCain seem moderate and Huckabee downright conservative. Maybe Duncan is right, of the remaining candidates... there is one guy with character and integrity. And he also is committed to strengthening America's defenses, securing the border, and making America more competitive. Come to think of it he actually did a pretty good job of running his state, and actually got a lot done. He's also the only candidate who has already taken on the Clinton political machine in their home state and won multiple times.

Mitt closed tax loopholes in MA...

AFTER his company, Bain Capital, earned billions for their investors through offshore tax havens.

Mitt and the Clintons

I would argue that, while Gov. Romney has indeed changed his stance on a couple of key issues, i.e. abortion and gay marriage, his convictions seem legitimate and heart-felt.

I would argue that comparing his RECORD (record being the operative word) from which he has now turned his back on those issues and 'seen the light,' is quite different from, by your own admission, embracing those ideals as your "agenda."

I think conservatives feel that Mitt is genuine in his recently found social conservatism. Not to mention the fact that he is a fiscal genius, and he has pledged to surround himself with the very best people to continue the War on Terror which, Thank God, has kept this country attack free for 6 1/2 years now.

Thanks for the imput.

Mike
