For goodness sake, there already are smaller, more affordable houses. They're mobile homes, and they're prefab homes and modular homes.

Why does someone making "minimum wage" not rent for several years until he's built up enough in savings to put down 20% on an affordable home?

Oh, that's right, that's what our parents did. Now it's everyone has to have everything instantly and without effort or sacrifice.

I worked from '55 to '67 before being able to buy a house. Does a dream have to be realized 20 minutes after you wake up?
