Obama and Newton's Theory Of Gravity

Jan - good analogy

It's interesting where good ideas come from - like picking pears! The "trickle up" theory sounds great, particularly if you are a person who is not particularly productive down on the bottom. But, it's simple, isn't it? If you are "spreading the wealth around a little" as Obama told the plumber today, that wealth would have been spent by those who already earned it - just as well, or better (invested), as it would be by those to whom it is being "spread". There is no net gain. It does not "trickle up". On the other hand, if those who produce something are given benefits for producing - such as keeping more of their profits - they will hire more people, provide more benefits, and thus produce a net gain that does, indeed, trickle down.
