Wow - you right wing loons were having a blast. Did you see any of the MSM coverage of the parties? Could they have come up with anymore nasty comments than they did? How lame. I saw on one channel they were talking about Right Wing groups and then saying how the militia came out. WTH!
Great pictures.

You mentioned the fact that the spin is that Obama is cutting taxes. He's giving a $400, or $800 credit. A joke, and on top of that, it is temporary. Why won't they talk about that?

You know the Bush tax cuts are temporary. I know they are temporary. Obama and the congress don't have to talk about tax increases since they are already coming, no vote required.
The press acts as if these protests shouldn't be about Obama when he and the congress have already double the national debt with no end in sight to the destructive plans he has for the country.
Bush and GOP lost the confidence of the people because they were big spenders and now we are expected to embrace even bigger spenders?
I think not!

Estimates ran from 600 - 1200 but it was hard to get a good count because of the venue.
The weather was mean and there was very little of the normal foot traffic usual in that location from 11 to 1. I stopped in one of the many restaurants for coffee afterward and the place was almost empty. That's not usual in a high rise business district at lunch time.
In spite of it all it was lively crowd and I had a good time attending. I'm looking forward to your post but don't stop logging those work hours my social security check is due on the 4th Wednesday.

It begins to look as if these things might get legs. The socialist reaction is incredible.
My greatest fear was that the media would try to ignore it. All the spin and vitriol is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned because it gets the attention of people.
As they say in Hollyweird, there is no such as bad publicity, it's no publicity that is feared.

When I look at all these blogs from all these different cities (and I've been hearing more and more on smaller blog sites about Tea Parties in really remote places that got serveral hundred to turn out) you know the number is far higher than any of us can imagine.

I think you may be right about the turn out. It's hard to get a good sense of it.
Red Nanny said it was only the rich that turned out. That came as quite a surprise to me since I am a long way from rich. I agree that the poor didn't come but they don't pay taxes do they? Why would they protest taxes?
The reaction by government types and their pet media leads me to believe that the protests were a huge success!

I agree. The socialists certainly had the dogs out this weekend. Axelrod called it "unhealthy" and pointed to the that huge $8 tax break Obama just signed. Carville was trying to call it a victory for democrats. I wonder if Obamacare will include whatever Carville is taking?
I noticed he didn't mention the Bush tax cuts they intend to let lapse next year.
3.6 trillion and I'm supposed to get excited about an 8 buck break. They really think people are stupid.

Since Clarksdale, MS didn't have a "formal" TEA Party, myself and 3 other old farts had our personal party at a local restaurant. We each made a small sign and set the sign next to our plates.
We invited others in the restaurant to talk about the nationwide TEA Parties and to voice their opinions.
We had a good time and a lively lunch. Not one single person said that they were happy with the new administartion.
I hope we can get together a "formal" TEA Party on 07/04/09.
Thanks for the pictures from your VA Beach party. It appears that your party was a good one.

How very appropriate of you. Throwing tea in the bay is more of New England tradition than a Southern one.
Historic Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg was the meeting place of men such as Jefferson and Henry as they plotted sedition against the crown in the years leading up to the Revolution.
So there you have it! Having a protest lunch happened much more frequently than dumping beverage materials in some body of water. HaHaHa!
I'm glad I shot that picture. It was the last one I took while riding up in the elevator of the parking garage at the conclusion of the protest.
Joe Rosenthal always said he almost missed the Iwo shot. Do you think that some day there will be a giant Brussels Griffon statue in DC? HaHaHa!

Nice to hear from you!
Putting aside the obvious areas of disagreement, which is to say, pretty much everything, the Redskins are big unknown in my mind.
I've seen some very disturbing quotes coming out of mini-camp. Haynesworth has the skills but carries some baggage. Campbell had a rough off-season but looked good in camp.
I think the most troubling thread running through all the player quotes is a sense rugged individualism. It's an admirable trait but not in a team sport. I think the coaches have their work cut out for them.
Oh, I almost forgot. Portis, who we all know doesn't like camp, thinks that the rain contains swine flu. HaHaHa!
Ok, he's a football player not a doctor so I give him a pass since I don't like working in the rain either but if I was getting his paycheck I'd learn to like it.
I like Orakpo! He is strong as an ox and fast. I also hear he can shift to DT which for the Redskins, injuries considered, is a real plus.
What do you think?
