Virginia Beach VA Tea Party

Good job, Sarge!

Check my place out in about 20 mintes, for the Commiefornia update.

Love it!

I love the pictures. The one with the dog rocks!

Wow - you right wing loons were having a blast. Did you see any of the MSM coverage of the parties? Could they have come up with anymore nasty comments than they did? How lame. I saw on one channel they were talking about Right Wing groups and then saying how the militia came out. WTH!

Great pictures.

Exellent...

pictures and report!

The kids with 'The Bill of Rights' and other founding documents is encouraging, also enjoyed the creativity that went into The Homeland Security signs!

Go Extremists!

"Excellent" typo

not 'Exellent'
my bad, wouldn't want to be labled an 'ignorant' extremist. ;)

Good pics

You mentioned the fact that the spin is that Obama is cutting taxes. He's giving a $400, or $800 credit. A joke, and on top of that, it is temporary. Why won't they talk about that?

Sue

I must say that the left has much better chanting skills. We're going to have to work on it. LOL!

Jennifer

Here at NSFF we don't deduct points for spelling unless you're a troll. The kids were having a good time....too short to feel the wind.

VDaddy

You know the Bush tax cuts are temporary. I know they are temporary. Obama and the congress don't have to talk about tax increases since they are already coming, no vote required.

The press acts as if these protests shouldn't be about Obama when he and the congress have already double the national debt with no end in sight to the destructive plans he has for the country.

Bush and GOP lost the confidence of the people because they were big spenders and now we are expected to embrace even bigger spenders?

I think not!

Loved the...

...small dogs for small government! Well done! Thanks.

Sarge

Yeah, that is indeed the approach they are taking, and it stinks. This time, I think people are beginning to smell just how bad it stinks.

Interface

The dog was cute but his owner was a knock out!

Yes I was there...

I didn't have a camera ...I'm glad it was on youtube. (I don't see me in the crowd). I was above the tea bag drop off.

I work at the Oceanfront. Some of the faces I've seen come regularly to events/meetings I've worked through the years. Radical has changed and taken on new meaning ...like Obama promised.

Bringing up the word 'Change':

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Couldn't help myself.

Looks Great

I went to one last night. I've been swamped with work but I'll write a post about it. The Virginia Beach gathering looked pretty well attended. How many people would you guess were there?

Sarge...

Awesome!! If you have watched the news, you know the CNN reporter hag really and truly did not have a clue as to why people were out there...My AAR is not up, as I have been in CME classes all week. I probably won't get my report done until Saturday...
Great Job!! And Hey, stopp egging us RWE on, already, would you?

Cindy

I was on the move for the obvious reason that I was freezing. That was a mean wind.

I shot pictures from all sides and probably captured you in one of the them. I'll look at what I have from the drop off area and put it up.

The next event as you probably know is tentatively planned for Chesapeake in June. City Park would be a good choice for it with a detention facility right next door. HaHa!

Thanks for coming by!

Skep

Estimates ran from 600 - 1200 but it was hard to get a good count because of the venue.

The weather was mean and there was very little of the normal foot traffic usual in that location from 11 to 1. I stopped in one of the many restaurants for coffee afterward and the place was almost empty. That's not usual in a high rise business district at lunch time.

In spite of it all it was lively crowd and I had a good time attending. I'm looking forward to your post but don't stop logging those work hours my social security check is due on the 4th Wednesday.

Nee

I look forward to your take. I wish that twinkie had asked you that question but then it probably wouldn't made the news. HaHaHa!

Don't blame me for stirring up trouble, after all, I am a charter member of the VRWC and a journalist, at least by CNN standards!

Now I can add Radical Right-Wing Extremist to my resume. Are we having fun yet?

Hehe

You need to go over to the side blog and see Hengler's clip of that "twinkee" gusshing over the 6 people "protesting" near the COW's residence. Fiar warning, you'll need a barf bucket.

And yes, I would have chased her down if she had walked away from me mid sentence to tell her what a biased beeyotch she was. SHe has the same last name as the reporter who interviewed me in Feb. Wonder if they are related? Andy Roesgen was the guy's name....They do sorta look alike.

Sgt.Relic

Great job,and some cool signs. I was at the Livonia,Mich Tea Party, looked to be somewhere around a couple thousand folks,of ALL stripes,(just for YOU,CNN) 1 lady arrested when she wouldn't get out of the street, all in all a good day. That spin is pretty much what we extremists would expect from the OLDM. They REFUSE to get it.

Nee

She was looking for a fight and finally found one. None of the information she was receiving was what she wanted to hear. She looked decidedly uncomfortable.

The increased troll activity tells me the Tea Parties were a big success, we must have scared the cr*p out the socialists!

Excellent Sarge!

I have the local news report up at my site on our california TEA party.

DHS had some signage going on here too.

My favorite was "Janet. We came unarmed... this time."

clyde

It begins to look as if these things might get legs. The socialist reaction is incredible.

My greatest fear was that the media would try to ignore it. All the spin and vitriol is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned because it gets the attention of people.

As they say in Hollyweird, there is no such as bad publicity, it's no publicity that is feared.

RB

Good to hear from you it's been a while. I love the sign!

On my way over.

Sarge

I'd given Chris Regal a heads up about our tea party blogs, and he linked us on the TH blog site:

FYI

Sgt Relic

great pics and great vid. Proud day to be a right wing extremist!

Sgt. Relic

Wow is all I can say. Your pics were great and thanx for providing the video of the news reporting. Ya'll in Virginia Beach know how to say what you think and say it creatively!!

Eric

Just think how excited those militias must be at the thought of all these new recruits. LOL!

Mrs. AL

I was a little disappointed since I thought there would be drugs and free love after the protest but apparently that sort of thing was discontinued in the early 70's.

I suppose I will have to settle for liberty. HaHaHa!

sarge

great pics! I can't decide which sign I like the best! You had some really funny ones posted up! (yet sooooo true). Looks like a fantastic turn out. The media has completely downplayed the turn out. When I look at all these blogs from all these different cities (and I've been hearing more and more on smaller blog sites about Tea Parties in really remote places that got serveral hundred to turn out) you know the number is far higher than any of us can imagine.

Keep up the good work everyone!

AS

I think you may be right about the turn out. It's hard to get a good sense of it.

Red Nanny said it was only the rich that turned out. That came as quite a surprise to me since I am a long way from rich. I agree that the poor didn't come but they don't pay taxes do they? Why would they protest taxes?

The reaction by government types and their pet media leads me to believe that the protests were a huge success!

Small Dogs For Small Gov`t!

I love that little guy! So many great signs, saw one on a blog that said, "Don`t tax me, Bro!" We watched the coverage on Fox News and were with you all in spirit. Now that everyone on the right is known as extremists, the movement will only grow and get stronger! Great blog and photos, Sarge!

Sgt

All good pics, but I really like the Small Dogs for Small Gov't!
I may take one of my chickens on a leash to the next Tea Party I go to, with a sign:
My Chicken is Smarter than YOUR pres**ent (no ID)

dawndawn

I think that pic was my money shot. Yes, we are all officially right wing extremists. I'm working on a logo for that to use on my blog posts. Everyone is free to rip it off if they like it.

Thanks for stopping by!

boaz

It seems the dog is a big hit, I will have to let the owner know about it if I see her at the next event.

The chicken is a great idea! You could also use; "Something is Fowl in DC". Kind of a play on William ShakenBake's "Ham-Omelet".

It's finally up...

Stop by for my Tea Party AAR and a mini rant. Ahem.

Sarge

That is an idea whose tiome has come.

Sgt Relic

Hey, our group could chant, "recall Arnold" really well! No practice at all. We had both sides of the aisle and then some. Since we seem to get a new tax every day! Super!

Can't wait for the car registration in the coming months. Not sure if we get the SUV tax back and the luxury tax. Wow - any credit I get goes right out the window! Glad I am getting a credit and hey, I am rich too! This administration is SUPER!!! :0

boaz

I agree. The socialists certainly had the dogs out this weekend. Axelrod called it "unhealthy" and pointed to the that huge $8 tax break Obama just signed. Carville was trying to call it a victory for democrats. I wonder if Obamacare will include whatever Carville is taking?

I noticed he didn't mention the Bush tax cuts they intend to let lapse next year.

3.6 trillion and I'm supposed to get excited about an 8 buck break. They really think people are stupid.

Sue

You guys have the advantage of being able to recycle your chants. Is that considered "green"?

"This administration is SUPER!!!"

Alright, I just flashed on a minds eye of Obama in tights. Now that image is gonna be in my head all day! HaHaHa!

1st Amendment

Keep on peaceably assembling guys ...

Thanks, Greg

We can't blame it on the British this time. Sometimes it seems that taxation WITH representation is not anymore palatable than without.

Sarge

Since Clarksdale, MS didn't have a "formal" TEA Party, myself and 3 other old farts had our personal party at a local restaurant. We each made a small sign and set the sign next to our plates.

We invited others in the restaurant to talk about the nationwide TEA Parties and to voice their opinions.

We had a good time and a lively lunch. Not one single person said that they were happy with the new administartion.

I hope we can get together a "formal" TEA Party on 07/04/09.

Thanks for the pictures from your VA Beach party. It appears that your party was a good one.

(My dog Heidi said she liked the little dog in your photos.)

Ghost

How very appropriate of you. Throwing tea in the bay is more of New England tradition than a Southern one.

Historic Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg was the meeting place of men such as Jefferson and Henry as they plotted sedition against the crown in the years leading up to the Revolution.

So there you have it! Having a protest lunch happened much more frequently than dumping beverage materials in some body of water. HaHaHa!

I'm glad I shot that picture. It was the last one I took while riding up in the elevator of the parking garage at the conclusion of the protest.

Joe Rosenthal always said he almost missed the Iwo shot. Do you think that some day there will be a giant Brussels Griffon statue in DC? HaHaHa!

WOW!

great pics! and even greater message! I just started blogging here and I am in great company!!

Pen Captain

Thank you very much for the kind words and welcome to the TH low rent district. You are now officially a journalist by CNN standards!

Tea Party

My dear Sgt.

You have always been my favorite curmudgeon and you proved yourself at the Tea Party. I was invited to the Richmond Party but couldn't go. I use my mouth a lot here where I live. That takes some of the sting away.

I like the dog pic too.

I think Ms CA will still be my Ms. Universe!

I'm proud of you and look forward to seeing you soon.
Love!!!!!

lucirichmond

I thought you'd like the dog. I'll be seeing you soon.

Sarge

Long time no debate. Now I'm sure you know my opinion on these teabaggers.....but I digress

I'm more interested in your opinion of our thing we both love to death and can agree on completely: The Washington Redskins

Your thoughts on the off-season so far? What about Haynesworth and his huge bloated contract? The Jason Campbell saga? Jim Zorn looking clueless once again?

Ralph

Nice to hear from you!

Putting aside the obvious areas of disagreement, which is to say, pretty much everything, the Redskins are big unknown in my mind.

I've seen some very disturbing quotes coming out of mini-camp. Haynesworth has the skills but carries some baggage. Campbell had a rough off-season but looked good in camp.

I think the most troubling thread running through all the player quotes is a sense rugged individualism. It's an admirable trait but not in a team sport. I think the coaches have their work cut out for them.

Oh, I almost forgot. Portis, who we all know doesn't like camp, thinks that the rain contains swine flu. HaHaHa!

Ok, he's a football player not a doctor so I give him a pass since I don't like working in the rain either but if I was getting his paycheck I'd learn to like it.

I like Orakpo! He is strong as an ox and fast. I also hear he can shift to DT which for the Redskins, injuries considered, is a real plus.

What do you think?
