A Tribute to Madame Speaker

We demand......

shrubbery! Hey Sarge, I love "Holy Grail"! And you did a first rate job here, good going, I enjoyed it. And....Pelosi may be shooting her party in the foot for the next elections, IF, the GOP can capitalize on what's happening here! A tv ad about the Friday Rebellion would be money well spent. Are they smart enough to do it? Probably not, sigh......

DCat

One can only hope that the GOP jumps on this one with both feet. With gas prices easing up, this issue will fade quickly. It shouldn't, since IMO we are only one good disaster away from $5 a gallon. It is still hurricane season. Who knows what could happen.

Run away and hide

That is what the dumbocr*ps do, when the going gets rough they put there tail between there legs and run away. They did it in Vietnam a war we were winning, they tried in Iraq but failed and as a result we should win that war. Now they are doing it with oil. They say we can't drill our way out, but they think we can grow our way out of this mess they got us into in the first place.

She's Saving The PLANET!

I'm starting to think that the Dems are heading for an electoral disaster. Songs like the one you wrote (very funny by the way. It works great with the Sir Robin tune from MP&HG)are all too apt. That 'saving the planet' crap might get her reelected in SF, where she is considered a Right-Winger, but I think the Dems are outsmarting themselves with this no-drilling nonsense. You dont have to be a genius to understand that looking for oil in an oil crisis is the local course. Rising gasoline prices are now working for the Republicans and Enviro-spew is working against the Dems. This demonstration by the Rep House members is what we have all been waiting for. The party should demand that all Rep candidates fly to Washington and join in, lead by McCain.Grab some headlines! Seize the day! Let's toss this scawny Marxist cow and her pet ogre Murtha out on their ears!

ooops!

...is the LOGICAL course, I meant.

Dogged

Imagine my surprise when I got home from Vietnam and found out we were losing. It sure didn't look that from where I was standing. Fortunately they seem to have failed to lose in Iraq but they still have Afghanistan.

This is just the latest avoidance in 35 years of pretending that energy will provide itself. No drilling, no nukes, no coal, just windmills and butterflies.

Efficient alternatives are fine and when they are available, at competitive prices, I will probably use them. Until then we need gas, and electricity to make the dollars that will make those things possible.

I suspect that this issue is going to have to go to the steps of the Capitol Building. The hard part will be finding anybody home.

Sarge Great Post -a must read, everyone!

Really excellent! and the Ballad of Nancy!! have you ever thought of teaming up with Mrs Paddy Too?? LOLOL both write Greay lyrics. You both can be the Poet lauret and chief song writer of McCain '08 !

Skep

Well said my friend. The Sir Robin tune was bouncing around in my head as I listened to the news story about this disgrace. And yes, finally a tiny band of pubs took a stand on an important issue. Thing are looking up!

Hopefully this will bite some of the more egregious villains on election day. I'd settle for running her out of the speakers chair but a defeat would be a God send. Bwaahahaha! And her little dog Murtha too!

Thanks Kev

It's my first attempt at song parody. I figured steal from the best, the Pythons that is...

On a sadder note: That was only 22 republicans yesterday. You can't exactly call that the gangs all here. My guy had better have a re-e-e-aly good reason for not being there.

Well McCain's got the ball let's see what he does with it.

Fantastic!

Keats would be so proud to know you!!
I hope this spreads like wildfire, as they say.
It was on page 4 or 5 in our paper...wonder if it made the front page anywhere.
Wish Rush and the rest were on today to ride it.

Keats!

Well, I am of Irish decent but I didn't thing it was maudlin. LOL!

Have no fear emjayne. You would probably have to straggle every talk radio host to keep this issue off the air on Monday. It didn't make the front page here either but I'm use to the Daily Fish Wrapper avoiding the obvious.

Sarge

One point. Tho we have been handed a gift from the Messiah, Obama and Nancy et al, we must be careful...As I wrote in a Post this morn, looks like BO gettin ready to throw Nan under the bus.! did you see ystdy, here in FL he indicated may be willing to Drill as part of compromise. This makes Nancy, Harry and the Dems look like idiots and can help McCain by showing BO now supports Nc Cain position, but we must not get over confident

Kev

I'll check that out. It sure isn't a stretch making Reid and Pelosi look like idiots since they pretty much do it to themselves. However, BHO has had a chance to hone his bus toss to a degree comparable to his three pointer skill.

At this point I am having trouble keeping up with the flips on positions by the candidates. This is a good example of why Senators make lousy presidents. Their background is creating loop-holes not conducting consistent policy.

Sarge

Amen to the flipflops and as I wrote today, Its getting crowded under the Obama Bus!! LOL

Congress is in recess!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!

Our money's safe!!!!

Quick! Someone tear down the building!!!

sgt

That's right...he did a flip on drilling. i cracked up when i heard that.
Any help needed throwing Pelosi under the bus, I'm willing.

Brian

You know that won't stop 'em. Just think of how much they could spend building a new one. Meanwhile they would be using the main room at the Mayflower or the Willard, on the taxpayer of course.

Do you think they could spend a trillion dollars on a new Capitol Bldg?

emjayne

Your going to have to get in line for that one. We could run a lotto for the privilege and probably shore up the budget shortfall. HaHa!

the ballad of the red nanny

will be followed up by "the wreck of the nancy pelosi," you know?

OH Yipeee..

This was good.

Wow, she is super. I am sure she is too buy saving the planet and talking about her book. She is ready to go. Who cares about the American people? Remember "I am third in line."

I saw parts of Obama in Florida. I was still working on inflating my tires and tune-ups and saving the planet to really listen and getting sick from the oil.

Do think these people realize how DUMB they sound? Who am I kidding? I just made a funny. What in the world was I thinking?

The gas around me continues to go down. I saw $4.16 yesterday and I have not seen that in months.

will the go-go song "vacation"

be prominently displayed with THIS story by the MSM? i loved this post...

Sgt.Relic

One can only hope the plane encounters difficulty. This disaster in high heels is making a travesty out of House. While the 22 souls who stayed behind are to be applauded, still makes me think it was more a "re-elect me" stunt than any thing meaningful. Got to agree with Brian, they're gone for now, can't louse up too much stuff back home. The RNC should have had ads out LAST NIGHT showing the democrats as the fools they are. But,I guess when your party's standard bearer agrees with the clowns....

BG

The "wreck" would be good but I'd go with Alice Cooper's "Schools Out".

Of Course the post parody is written for an English minstrel with coconut shell accompaniment. LOL!

Sue

Our Nanny is very busy all the time. She must constantly be working to prevent legislation from reaching the floor, overseeing the executive branch, and trying to lose a war on two fronts, and yet, she still finds time to write a feminist screed for the children. Our Nanny has worked hard.

I'll get excited about gas when the price hits $1. It's currently $3.75 here. That is nothing to get excited about.

My tires are still inflated from when Carter made that idiotic statement over 30 years ago. Look for the other Carter biggy in the fall. Sweaters!!!

Move along folks there is "nothing new to see here" should be Obama's campaign theme.

clyde

I'm starting to get a picture of who stayed in fact in defiance of house rules against video it is popping up all over the internet. Here's a link to RedState. http://www.redstate.com/diaries/jeff_emanuel/2008/aug/02/l ooking-back-on-the-house-gop-sit-in/

If Mike Pence was involved I'm inclined to think it was less re-election stunt and was more a case of being just the real conservatives we can on.

Sarge

That was funny...They work hard for the money, hmmm? LOL

Sgt.Relic

Are not ALL of them standing for re-election this time? Not too sure, but the cynic in me thinks that yes, while it is GOOD to see some of them stand up,THE WHOLE DAMN GOP CONTINGENT should have been there,IMHO.

Hi Nee

Have you made your move? For more information on just how hard the congress works check the video on my former post here: How Do They Manage
http://notsofriendlyfire.blogtownhall.com/2008/04/01/how_d o_they_manage.thtml

It's funny but tragically true.

Clyde...

No argument from me. I share your cynicism. I too would have wished that all of the republicans had been willing to hang around. That is what leads me to believe that those that remained are about the only conservatives left in the house. That my friend is the tragedy.

I am trying to track down the backgrounds on some of the reps I am not familiar with to see if they are in trouble back home. As Ronald Reagan said; "Trust but verify".

As I stated in my essay before this one. At what point are democrats willing to cut their bad actors loose?

Sgt Relic

Very nice! That is a great song btw...that movie is the best!

Thanks for stopping by as well. For others reading...stop by! haha

Sgt Relic

Btw...I listened to that while listening to the song in the movie...awesome! Just awesome!

CK

As I said earlier, that was the first thing that popped into my mind when I was listening to the news report. What a cowardly way to slink out of town.

I'm going try the simulcast thing just giggles and grins. Let me know when you post part 2 in your series. And thanks for the kind remarks.

Note to new or infrequent visitors: My blog roll has been inoperative since February during the grand overhaul here at TH.

If you don't see your site listed it just means I hadn't visited your site before Feb. I have been forced to rely on Favorites for navigation.

All

A list of the members who remained on Friday has been added as an update to the bottom of the essay.

Shocker - no one from NJ?

of course, that presumes there is a conservative from NJ in Congress, which probably isn't the case.

Sad to see only 1 guy from my native Indiana, though it seems Pence is getting a reputation as a conservative on some issues.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, Ed

There is not ONE member of the VA delegation on that list. Not one. Most of our delegates live close enough to have stayed and still made it home for dinner.

I am particularly interested to find out why my guy, who is author of "The Manhattan Project for Energy" Bill didn't see fit to join this party.

I fired off an email to him on Friday but haven't received a reply. Monday I will be calling his office if I don't run into him at the grocery store first. He only lives 6 blocks away.

Thanks Sarge....

I'm emailing my rep, Chabot to ask why HE wasn't there. He's always been a good conservative, but these are times we need to stand up, and I want answers.

DCat

Your welcome. It is only about 8 years late but I am happy to see that the ENTIRE congress is not neutered. (Special dispensation to Rep. Virginia Foxx of NC) If we are going to have a woman in the Speaker's chair it should be one like her.

Sgt Relic

Thanks for the list now I got to find out where my Congressman was, Gus Bilirakis R of Fl

Sgt

Thanks for posting the list.
Only 1 from FL and not mine so he will get an earful!!
Too bad it happened on a Friday. It will be interesting to see who brings it up after the weekend.

Sarge...........

Good post. Informative and entertaining. Sorry to see that my two Repub Senators from Tennessee weren't listed in the group that stayed behind to protest. Cheers to those who did. Hope Mc Cain's people are going to make hay with this new development. We'll see. Stop by my place when you have a minute. See you there.

Pelosi is safe

and her minstrels can go back to their street hustling in San Francisco. I too love the Holy Grail, and enjoyed your parody. She willnot pay a price, but maybe some of her Democratic allies will.

Kev, emjayne

Your welcome Kev.

emjayne, I hear that they intend to continue on Monday. I wonder if the press will cover it?

Bobbie

That was the house only. The Senate hasn't adjourned yet. Your senators should still be there. But it is August so I would say not for long. I'll swing by.

wil

I see it the same way. Pelosi is safe since I think it is nealy impossible to be too far left in San Fran. I have heard it said that they think she's a conservative. LOL!

Well, I see Duncan Hunter

was there. No surprise; he's a good man.

Actually, my preferred candidate for Prez from the GOP. Maybe next time...

Sarge

Holy Grail is one of my all-time favorites, and you did well by it.

The list of the revolters is missing one. When it was happening, I kept hearing the name of a relatively junior rep from Texas, Jeb Hensarling, as one of the leaders on the floor.

my rep was missing

Kay Granger (R TX-12)

As for P-Lousy, I'd really laugh if she lost in this election, considering that her opponent is the She-Hag. Then again, giving Cindy Sheehan any kind of legitimacy, even from Than Franthithco, wouldn't really be a good thing either.

Excellent!

Way to go Sarge! Will pass it along. Yes, if only the Repubs would jump on this!

dangit Sarge

now I can't get the tune outta my head!

I passed the link to this story on to a bunch of townhallers and other friends of mine.

I just posted your whole

article (with link and proper attribution) over at vajoe.com

http://www.vajoe.com/board/viewtopic.php?pid=121476#p121476

Lovelee Tributee, Sgt Relic

The Red Nanny would be so proud. Shall we send The Red Nanny to the RED PLANET (MARS), now that water has been found perhaps Aunt Harry and Uncle Al will join her and she and Al Gore can devote thier amazing skills to saving Mars.

Great post you are quite the poet.

Ed

Your right, not a Conservative to be found in South Jersey We have No Representation Oh Well.
but we are not alone there is no Senate Respresentation for South Jersey either.
John Andrews (Dem from my area) tried but lost the primary that wiley Frank Lautenberg just keeps getting elected, oh buggggerrrr!

Sgt.Relic

McCotter seems like a decent guy,but the dhimmis are gunning for him this time around.I'm not in his district, but have friends who are. They are supporting him,but the usual suspects are pouring a TON of money into the dimwit running against him. and of course, the RNC,nor the Mi.GOP seems too eager to help him out. it's like the GOP has simply abandoned SE Lower Mich.

EXCELLENT!!!

Thanks to Crawfish for sending me the link to this outstanding parody.
You are truly talented Sgt.

Ed Lilly

No one from the N. East.
Our two Congritters from Maine are uber libs.
Tom Allen is trying to unseat Susan Collins. I know Collins is not very conservative but she's better than Allen. The guy's an arrogant, insulting libidiot.

What's interesting about no one from the N. East being there is this is one of the coldest areas in the winter. Heating oil is already almost $5 per gal. and when you're filling a 200 gal. tank it adds up pretty quick.
So caring. So understanding.

So full of cr*p.

Conservabear

As a born and raised Joyzee Boy, now in the Glorious State of FLORIDA, my conddolences to y'all in So. Jersey!! Politics in NJ has always been an adventure, I first got involved in Politics in Joyzee City in college, we elected a Reform Mayor and tossed out Kenny Machine but still same ole Dem Monopoly.

Brian

It was no surprise to Duncan Hunter there. Your right of course, as you know Hunter was my first choice as well.

I understand that he is retiring and will hopefully be replace by Duncan Hunter the younger. Who had to start his campaign will serving with the Marines in Afghanistan. It sounds like he is made the same stuff as his Dad.

I hope Hunter runs against Boxer

or Feinstein in the next Senate race. That is a race I would be very enthusiastic about. I would have to step up and volunteer for that campaign.

Crawfish (collective response) HaHa!

MPHG is one movie I never tire of watching. As I said the names were posted without comment since I was relying on RedState for the list and they made no claim to the completeness of the list. My guy Forbes wasn't listed either.

Thanks for the kind words and promotion around the web. If I ever need a publicist I will know who to contact.

Don't fight the song! Sharpen up your herring, break out your coconut halves and sing along. LOL!

Conservabear

Thanks for the nice comment but I think I have to defer to the real genius of Eric Idle, et al.

If your gettin' up a collection to send our brave band of planet savers to Mars count me in as a BIG donor. LOL!

Gos!

How are you doing? The last I heard you guys were both doing the medical thing. I claim no responsibility. I know I gave you the fudge recipe but I never told you to eat it. HaHa!

I hope Pepper is up and about. My best to her as well.

Clyde

The GOP does seem to have a penchant for being in the minority. As moderates have built their power the RNC and their state components have systematically abandoned conservatives and made it easy for the left to target them.

We saw that here in Virginia when Ollie North ran for the Senate. Our senator John Warner (RINO-VA) backed an independent Marshall Coleman, split the vote, and handed the election to Chuck Robb. I have never forgiven him for that bit of deceit.

MI has more than her share of problems dem and republican, it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Thanks, Beachmom

I'm happy you enjoyed it. I appreciate you stopping by.

wil

Do you think Hunter would retire this year and then run later? It would seem to make sense if you don't have a senatorial race this year in CA. He could get his son elected to his house seat and take his shot at the senate a couple years down the road.

That would be great!

I think he retired

with the Presidency or a Vp slot in mind, but that would be a good backup plan, after all the Senate is a step up from the house.

wil

I agree whole heartedly. I'll even contribute that campaign.

All

I posted this on the frontpage but it's worth repeating. I just got this list of participants from the minority leaders website. It shows a few names not listed at RedState. I guess they didn't have a roll call. If one of these is yours you should send them a shout of thanks.

Reps. Brian Bilbray, Gus Bilirakis, Rob Bishop, Roy Blunt, John Boehner, John Boozman, Kevin Brady, Paul Broun, Henry Brown, Michael Burgess, John Campbell, Eric Cantor, Shelly Moore Capito, John Carter, Tom Cole, Mike Conaway, John Culberson, Charlie Dent, Mary Fallin, Jeff Fortenberry, Virginia Foxx, Louie Gohmert, Wally Herger, Pete Hoekstra, Duncan Hunter, Steve King, Dan Lungren, Don Manzullo, Kevin McCarthy, Thaddeus McCotter, Devin Nunes, Mike Pence, Chip Pickering, Todd Platts, Ted Poe, Jon Porter, Tom Price, Adam Putnam, Bill Sali, John Shadegg, John Shimkus, Adrian Smith, Mike Turner, Tim Walberg, Greg Walden, and Lynn Westmoreland.

Jeb Hensarling

was one of the reps in front of the microphones Thursday and was active Friday morning, but wasn't part of Friday afternoon's battle. He was on FoxNews yesterday afternoon, though, and will be back in DC sometime this week to start taking his shifts in the protest. Maybe my rep (Granger) will take note and join in sometime.

So Sarge - about your local rep...

... did you happen to run into him over the weekend?

Just curious.

Glad to see Conservabear is in the same boat in South Jersey, and beachmom's comment on the entire Northeast is a great observation. Smart conservative politicians would try to build on that point as the weather starts to cool and home heating bills become an issue with elections getting closer.

John Campbell is awesome.

Bohnner can stay and eat pizza all he wants. That doesn't fix his reputation with me.

Craw

I did see one reference to Hensarling being part of the revolt. I can't recall the source but it may have been on Pence's website. Thanks for the update.

Ed

I didn't see him out and about but I am told that he will be taking a "shift" in the speaking round robin. As I said above the "The Twilight Zone", sometimes called D.C., is only a three and a half hour drive from here.

SC

Your right, Mr. Boehner has a great many sins to answer for but at least he ACTING like the minority leader on this issue. IMO, the minority would be better served by someone like Mike Pence but as we all know; you go to war with the army you have...YaDaYaDaYaDa.

Sarge...

Probably the only reason Boehner stayed was cuz he likes Pepperoni. Or maybe they got him the "meat lovers" pizza.

Ha! Ha! Ha!...

You may well be dead on target SC. Resisting lobbyists and corruption is one thing but turning down pepperoni pizza is....UNTHINKABLE!

catch 22

Hey Sgt. If the only time the Repubs stand up and fight is when they are desperate and in the minority, is it not tempting to keep them there? This is what kills me. They are great at yelling from the sidelines. But when they had everything they didn't know what to do with it. Maybe in 2010 and 2012, eh?

sgt Relic

SArge you are right re Boehmer but as u say he came through on this issue FINALLY.Hopefully it will become a habit.

Finally,

someone from IL we can be proud of. Dom Manzullo truly has stayed a man of and for the people. He answers me and will follow up with a letter actually addressing the issues I brought up. I get platitudes and talking points, most of which did not adrress any of my concerns, from Durbin and Obama. I DO get an invitation to have coffee with Durbin when I'm in DC. Yea, riiiight.

Been making it a point to start visiting the underlined bloggers on the TH site, especially the ones with whom I agree and/or enjoy. It's fun, and I like what I've found.
Val Weiss

SP!

It's good to hear from you! Yes, it's sad but true. Even with complete control they couldn't keep their members on the same page, and in the case of McCain and company, on the right side of the aisle.

Are you back from hiatus or just visiting the inmates? HaHa!

Kev

It is a bit soon in my opinion to celebrate their return from the dark side. It is, after all, an election year. However since I do believe in reinforcing "good" behavior I have tried to give encouragement to as many of them as possible. It works on kids why not congressional reps?

Sarge Great analogy

Kids - Reps perfect analogy except it may be an insult to the kids! But yes we must reward good behavior

Welcome MD/MG

Good choice. It is much more fun to hangout with the backroom riff-raff. Roberto and his troll patrol is fun at first but these days I just ignore them.

You ought to be very careful having coffee with dems in D.C., that stuff cost Clinton coffee attendees $27 million in donations. And they say Starbucks is high!

i'm back

I've already written several brilliant pieces (in my mind - not on the site:)

Anyway, swing by when you have a chance.

Pretty great!

Love the ballad of Red Nancy...

Boy, was she ever bad last Sunday on This Week. How did she ever get there?

They can only win if we let them.

Kev

I guess we send them all a lollipop, it worked with my kid.

Sandra

I'm glad you liked the parody. You guess as to how Pelosi wound up as speaker is as good as mine. She must really have the dirt on a lot of people in congress.

Her TV appearance was something less than stellar. When even a kool-aid kid like Step-on-all-of-us starts grilling dems you know she's got problems.

Sarge

Lollipops woulld be appropriate seeing how they are all SUCKERS!!! Right?

Hmmmm....

Kev, sometimes I wonder just who the real suckers are, the people who get elected or those of us who vote them?

Sgt.

no worry about me having coffee w/ turban durbin, I'm afraid to drink anything in DC. Whatever is in the water there seems to sap the cojones off the men and slaps them onto the women. Girly men and feminazi women.

TH. I tend to skip over the trolls. Some get a perverse pleasure out of arguing with them, I don't. I like reasoned arguments. If I want to argue nonsense, I'll take on my 3 or 5 year old grandkids.

Have a good one, and in the words of that great actor, I'll be baack.

MD/MG

Arguments with the grandkids! HaHaHa! That's a great line!

DC definitely operates in an alternate reality. Isn't it odd how seeming bright people go to work there and after a time are never again capable of logical thought?

sarge...

after what pelosi did we can all say in truth: "the new dark ages are apon us!!" great post.

Sgt

my point exactly. That's why I avoid that city. Not sure if it's in the water, stealth mind washing, or catchable, like a virus. Until we find the cause, I'm staying outta there.

Thanks crossbow

Have no fear, just go out and crank up your solar powered windmill and viola, you can power your flashlight.

I'm personally looking for a diesel powered windmill. LOL!

MD/MG

I favor the virus theory. You no doubt have heard of Potomac Fever. DC has been famously described as 61 square miles surrounded by reality. Although, I'm not so sure about Maryland anymore.

I hadn't heard of Potomac Fever,

before. It may have some validity. Maybe it was brought in from the CA contingency. I've always referred to them as the granola state. A whole lot of fruits and nuts srrounded by a bunch of flakes.

By the way. News reports say Madamn Speaker has sold about 2500 books so far. Her book tour is such a resounding success. She may be better off going back to DC and facing the music there.

MD/MG

Now that is just unfair. I heard that she had sold almost 2800. HaHa!

Potomac Fever is actually an affliction common in government officials. General Symptoms include: Extreme disorientation, memory loss, and occasional delusions of grandeur.

There is an excellent website that gives a good deal of detail concerning this scourge on society. See it here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/results/leadership/potomacfever. html

Concerning Red Nancy....

I blow my nose at her, so-called Red Nancy, her and all her silly Dumbocrap k-nnnnniggets.

Thpppppt! Thppt! Thppt!

She is an empty headed animal food trough wiper!

I fart in her general direction!

Her mother was a hamster and her father smelt of elderberries!

Ha Ha Ha!

That's the spirit, Ghost! A classic of Pythonish humor. Which is not to say that this election isn't providing it's moments.

John Edwards seems to have stepped in to handle comedy this week. Personally, if I were admitting to an affair I don't think that I would have given the media this quote: "I have been stripped bare...." LOL!

Edwards gets this week's "Stating the Obvious" Award.

Madame Speaker

Her Book Tour is about as successful as the last Congress for which she weiled the gavel... At least it shows she is consistent - can't lead the Congress and can't write a book people will read... She needs to be launched into orbit to examine and save this planet... GO NANCY!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Jim!

An excellent suggestion! Preferably High Earth Orbit. Better still. Since Mars is also heating up, why not send here on a fact finding mission to Mars? Congressional types always seem to like fact finding trips. She could probably double her book sales at the same time!

her highness

sees it fit to silence the house...It sounds more like the soviet union than America! I salute the Republicans who tried to get the vote on offshore drilling. GREAT post sarge!

Thanks CB

It looked like a dry run for the "Fairness Doctrine". Turn off the lights and kill the cameras. Red Nanny hates free speech but mostly she hates OIL!

Thanks, Sgt.

I enjoyed the educating on Potomac Fever. I'll keep an eye out for any symptoms that can be passed on.

Gray Ghost

Loved the MP reference. My brother-in-law had always used that quote. It's one of my favorites. Thanks for the laugh this am.

MG

Glad to help. In the true spirit of the left I suggest we begin harassing congress for funding since little research seems to be taking place regarding this serious affliction.

Perhaps we could get a grant to study it ourselves? What do you think? A billion or so, split two ways. LOL!

Not trying to brag...

But I paid $3.45 yesterday for 87%, man did that help the pocketbook! I was down to below a quarter of a tank, so it was extra-special! It must be living close to Tulsa & Bartlesville, which used to be two of the nation's largest oil producers and still have large refineries.

I would love to see it drop below $3 across the nation while "the madame" is out selling her wares. Maybe she'd be forced to call their 'recess' short. I can just see her beckoning them all to come back!

str8 talk

As much as it hurts I've got to say that I would have been happier if it had gone up.

With prices dropping the spin masters will be out telling us how congress didn't need to do anything. All we needed was to cut out unnecessary driving and use our Obama tire gauges.

Don't forget that gas was $1.75 when this democrat sleigh ride started in January 2007. I thought that was too high.
