A belated WELCOME to you, sir.

I just became aware of your blog and, after reading your posts, can only celebrate that another student of the Constitution, liberties of men, government, and American exceptionalism has made his way to our group here. You are both needed and appreciated.

Your logic and way with words reminds me of John Adams or James Madison. They had the ability to identify and define those natures inherent in men capable of inspiration and causal of dedication, and to apply those definitions to the everyday administration of governence. Whether that is a gift of birth or of sound teaching matters not.

I welcome you to Townhall, and am looking forward to reading whatever you can provide to a man's understanding of our world and nation.

I appreciate the praise. While I am unprepared to accept myself placed among such great thinkers, I do allow that my philosophy naturally reflects those ideals which are so central to the union which they sought to establish.
It is both a gift and a developed skill and my own observations have accompanied sound teaching. Our current state of affairs gives me no shortage of available subjects for practice, sadly enough.
But a thing to be said, if it is the truth, must be said well and said in as many ways as possible so that more people can understand the truth.
The precarious perch upon which our nation rests is held only by those advocates who urgently argue for a return to morality, self-actualization, and individual freedom, to name only a few necessary traits which we may be currently lacking.
I hope that this blog, and the other blogs on Townhall, can be part of that advocacy. The liberty of our children depends upon it.

Damn well said!

I've only read this essay so far, and am looking forward to the next one.

Welcome to blogdom!

PS

I just read your bio, and the fact that such a young man has such ideals and the ability to state them so clearly gives me a lot of hope for your generation.

My daughter's a couple of years younger than you, and she and her husband give me the same "warm and fuzzies".

Thank God! I was starting to think that my generation ("Baby Boomers") was going to have screwed everything up for everybody.

Now... back for your next essay.

Joseph

"There is no right or left. There is freedom and tyranny."
___________
Yes.

I've been trying to get this across to my fellow right-wingers for some time now. I am happy to say that the message - I think - is starting to resonate.
___________

"In that sense, government is the greatest threat to liberty and must be governed, itself, and harshly. That is the purpose for the Constitution of the United States of America."
___________

Bless your heart.

Remember...

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government -- lest it come to dominate our lives and interests."
-- Patrick Henry

I'm glad to hear from someone who agrees. I think you're right. There's a groundswell of dedicated freedom-minded people and there's also a new group of people entering the debate. Some of them are taking a first look at the nature of human rights because they see what Obama is doing and conversely, others are looking around at viewpoints because Obama inspired them to take an interest in politics. We would do well to explain to these people, from the very ground up, the moral superiority of individual liberty and the depravity of other systems.
