I have said over and over because you back Bush on the WOT does that mean you can't be against anything he does? No it's not bizarre it's an honest question, Rush, Laura, Sean and all others support the WOT, but it's bizarre to expect them to go along with everything the President says, because even I don't go that far. I'm a big time Bush supporter but h--l, even I don't like NCLB, the immigration policy [never did], I felt he was real wrong to sign McCain/Feingold. The fact he did not fight for Social Security anywhere near as much as he is fighting for this immigration bill.

If Laura and others did not like the Miers appointment [for what reason they had], regards her [what others feel] qualifications why can't they do that?

Do you feel it's all or nothing?

If Laura [and I heard this over and over, till I wished it was over] had certain judges she felt should be appointed and not Miers is she not free to voice her opinion? If it bothered you that much either turn her off, voice your opinion to her and others, [in the Senate]

I voted for Bush twice [knowing what his immigration policy was] because on balance I feel that I liked more of his ideas than disliked. I did feel that [at the time of my vote] he would do more for Social Security] I was disappointed, but I still support him. BTW I never came down on any side on the Miers SCOTUS issue [I know her qualifications, I never said she was not qualified], I figured if Bush appointed her he knew what he was doing. Laura and others had their opinion, and they are entitled to it {regardless of the fact that they support Bush on other issues} [as annoying as it was at the time], but as it turned out we have Alito who seems like a good conservative Justice.

Thanks for the post I feel honored, to have a post just for me.

So because I support Bush on the WOT, I have to support him on the immigration issue? Sorry wrong.

If you read my blog you know who's side I'm on and I know who wants us to lose the WOT, and also who wants to kill us.

jevica, it's midnite

and I was in a car accident and just got thru my second therapy session, but I will put aside some time to address your points in detail tomorrow.

For now...you asked why you should support Bush when you disagree with him on illegal immigration...and my answer is this...for the SAME reason you did when you knew his stand on illegal immigration and STILL voted for him.

Somewhere YOU decided that the illegal immigration issue was not as important as the WOT as I have considered Rudy because although the pro-life issue is a deal breaker for me...NOTHING trumps the WOT.

And if I gave Rudy my vote...I wouldn't wait near 7 years to decide that he's not worth supporting.

Sanity102

I decided to support Bush in 2000 and 2004, because the alternative was unacceptable. 2000 was before the WOT hit us.

In 2004 Kerry would have been a disaster, all I say is there are some issues I don't agree with or support Bush on and I voice my displeasure. I have been against his immigration policy all along.

I believe that his plus factors outweigh the minus factors. But I still reserve the right to disagree.

Rudy is good on the WOT but as you say "the pro-life issue is a deal breaker for me" I agree also his 2nd amendment issues. If you feel as I do the WOT trumps then support and vote for Rudy.

But does that mean you can never bring up the pro-life issue? Also if someone votes for Rudy knowing that, then they should not express surprise at his stance on abortion in year seven.

Bush made his stance on immigration before his reelection and people seemed surprised, give me a break.

Jevica

No one is asking you to agree with Bush 100% of the time. No one is asking you to shut up.

This reminds me of the first time a child is taken aside and told..."LISTEN, you DO NOT, EVER, tell Aunt Annie that her face is ugly and she smells. You don't tell anyone that...it hurts their feelings."

And the kid looks up at you astonished..."But, you told me never to lie."

We are at war Jevica. I KNOW you know that...which is why I am really making time to communicate with you. My schoolyard bully analogy is applicable, I believe. Bush is that kid that finally told the bully no and he was able to so because he had his own people watching his back.

But somewhere along the line, some of those people lost focus of the real enemy and began to view Bush as the guy standing in the way of THEIR needs and THEIR wants aka the illegal immigration issue.

And while Bush was battling both the Dems and the Terrorists...these so called allies were stabbing him in the back.

Jevica...telling your listeners that you disagree is one thing...going on the MSM and bashing Bush and taking out whole page ads to force him to do your bidding is quite another.

And for what? You KNOW and they KNOW, no one is going to deport 5% of America's labor force...you KNOW and they KNOW that America is NOT going to put up a Berlin type wall on the border of America's SECOND biggest trading partner.

The RINO press LIED to their listeners and USED them...and drove out Independents like me who may have joined you and Republicans like Sandra who just wanted a place at the table belonging to HER party.

Sanity102

If we can't secure our borders [North and South] then we are at a big disadvantage in the WOT.

That's just the problem. "violating the border is against the law." We all know it's illegal but gee there are so many here we can't do this or that and deport them so just figure out some scheme to let them stay.

That's just it they know we are not going to deport them or build a wall, why do they know this. Because it's what we should do.

We were told about this bill [and sometimes the opinion of the teller, pro or con] then I made up my mind that as written it's a bad bill. They lied to us [press, talk radio, by telling us what's in the bill?]

If you support the bill and keeping 15 to 20 million illegals here, and more with chain migration if the bill pases that's your right. I say if they come in contact with authorities send them back.

It may be another thing but it is their right, we disagree on this but I post and will tell anyone I disagree with Bush on this and other issues.

Sometimes I feel I'm the only one who supports Bush on the WOT and the only one who realizes who are enemy is and that they want to kill us. But we have to disagree on this. Sanity I like your blog and comments. Don't let those voices drive you out espouse your views on the issues.

I took off after Jevica because I realized she was not stupid and was making assertions that had their origin in feelings rather than reason. Sanity, I don't believe Jevica is worth exchanging ideas with, because I don't sense she's interested in ideas. Her "ideas," such as they are, are as old as America, with the flagrant mistreatment of Native Americans, whose main offenses was that they weren't white and weren't English. The land we took from Mexicans was not obtained through some "rule of law." It was taken by force, and at least some of it should be given back. When people steal things, they have an obligation to return it, a point I'm sure Jevica will acknowledge. I'm sure you remember when Wal-Mart had its "Made in America" campaign. They discarded it, largely because they found Americans -- the vast majority -- wanted CHEAP goods. That's why people flock to Wal-Mart and Target and other stores which get most of their goods from South America and, especially, from China. Duncan Hunter is going on and on about how China is "cheating" on trade. In fact, China mainly enables us to live the high life by buying nearly a hundred billion dollars of our bonds. The Chinese (and the Arabs) are the ones who finance our national debt. That debt allows us to live way beyond our means. Ask Congressman Hunter about that part. (Get Niall Ferguson, Collosus: The American Empire, and look up "China" in the index. Ferguson is the most famous historian in the world.) The proposed immigration bill is the best one we're ever going to get. Republicans will suffer devastating losses in 2008, including the presidency. We will not have enough people even to filibuster. The Democrats will appoint the next 4 or so Supreme Court Justices. Just as we lost the Black vote in 1964, so will lose the Hispanic vote (45 million legsls here now, heading toward 60 million legals in a decade.) This is why I'm so angry at Jevica. Does anyone doubt these things are going to happen? If we deported 12 million people, our economy would collapse and Castro-Chavez would reign in South America. Your food prices might double, but that would be okay because you'd have given up your car. The Hispanic community would go into revolution if there was massive deportation, and I'd be on their side. These are the real issues, not Jevica's namby pamby and disingenous blathering.

If I were a Mexican facing hopelessness for myself and my children, would I cross the border? In a New York minute, just as Jevica would.

steve

First I make you angry because I do not agree with your ideas. BTW I have been married to my wife since 1969, we have one daughter that she gave birth to, since I'm not the woman.

Now since you are 100% wrong all the times you used she, etc. which if you had gone to my blog and read the bio you would have known the truth.

So Americans want lesser priced goods and Wal-Wart, etc fill that need, well steve that's called business.

That land was taken after wars, or bought, that's rule of "law." And no it should not be given back [the land]. Why would you say something like that?

Why have any immigration laws, or border, just let anyone in. The blacks have voted Democrat long before 1964, [even though it was due to the Republicans that the voting rights act passed.] except Bush did increase his share of the black vote.

My ideas have to do with the respect for the law and borders of America, again you make some racist comments about what you call my ideas "are as old as America, with the flagrant mistreatment of Native Americans, whose main offenses was that they weren't white and weren't English." Again this shows your wrongness, I'm 2nd generation American, from Italian immigrants, and when the Italians came here they were not welcomed with open arms. You're just wrong all over.

As for the rest of your comment it's possible that Republicans will lose in 2008, but not because of this issue.
