Why are we surprised when McCain and Obama promise everybody to everything and then have no way to pay for it except higher taxes?

Is this something new?

They had a chance to balance the budget way back in the 60s, could have kept SS solvent by banking or investing the SS overtaxes and Congress chose to spend it on themselves.

These people are parasties.

Inflation is one the rise and hyperinflation is one way to pay off the national debt. Too bad SS is inflation-adjusted so it will continue to grow like a tumor.

Inflation, unemployment and more are on the way.
