France vs the U.S. round 1342

France is making another play to undermine the U.S. and establish a dominant position in the EU. It is interesting that France now appears to consider us as a sort of strategic competitor if not a threat. This game has been going on since the 1960's when De Gaul attacked our currency by manipulating the financial and gold markets. The effort failed, but it did kind of set the tone for the relationship.
