TRUCKING REGS WILL HURT UPSTATE ECONOMY

Pure Stupidity

To regulate commerce like that will only hurt the state. I grew up in CT, along the New York line. I also am a truck driver. I know that there is industry in NY that relies on these trucks to do business. ALCOA comes to mind. There are many more, but I know from friends I have that are from that area this is one of the biggest employers up there. 53' trailers are know the standard. Export containers are know going from 45 and 48' to 53'. The majority of carriers pull 53'. I know live in Florida, and 58' are know legal in many places. If this regulation goes forward it will put undo stress on the economy in upstate New York. It will also kill jobs, companies like ALCOA will move because of the expense. I left Ct. because the town I lived in was being pushed into becoming a bedroom community. Is this what they want to do with upstate New York. People will leave in droves. When the companies leave taxes will go even higher because the burden will go on the residents. I know it happened to me. My last year in Ct. my taxes went from 4500 dollars a year to over 6000 dollars. Looks like just another democrat trying to keep his rich base happy.
