If You Could Talk to A Younger You

You asked for comments

and here's one. You write beautifully. You have a very direct conversational style.

I've always enjoyed your comments. I've not been around here as much either. Trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. Turned 56 this year and can't decide if I should try my hand at another career or keep trying to retire on a farm that is under increasing assault by government policies. So far, I've been a musician, a factory rat, manager, instructor in a college (never wanted to pursue tenure and be a professor), consultant, CEO of a small manufacturing company. I've also, finally, attained the lofty title of Grandpa and it's the best job I've ever had.

While I try to be optimistic, our current government makes that more difficult by the day. I've lived through a couple recessions including trying to start a family in Carter's 70s. I've never before had as much equity and as many assets; yet I've never before been so worried about being able to make it.

I've always liked your posts. If you ever decide to move to West Michigan instead of Kanukistan, I can assure you that there would be at least one house you'd be invited into.

Going Galt

I would not get into much of anything new right now; bunker down and keep under the radar is my plan, so that this group of thugs will not think I have anything worth looting. I do not think he will last long. Some of his own gang will put him out of our misery I suspct.

You never know where you may end up. But interesting times these surely are.
