People for the Efficient Termination of Animals

Reality Check on your POST..............

First:
CCF ISN'T A CONSUMERS GROUP.

CCF is a nonprofit corporation run by lobbyist Richard Berman through his D.C.-based for-profit public relations firm, Berman & Co. CCF, formally, Guest Choice Network, was set up with $600,000 from Philip Morris. It runs media campaigns which oppose the efforts of scientists, doctors, health advocates, environmentalists going against any of their clients.

Berman sound familiar?
He and Brinker Steak and Ale lobbyists donated $25K that disgraced Newt Gingrich, who went before the House Ethics Committee for influence-peddling over it. They were lobbying against raising minimum wage.

Richard Berman is an influence peddler. He has worked out a scheme to funnel charitable donations from corporations into his own pocket. In exchange, he provides a flurry of disinformation, flawed studies, op-ed pieces, letters to the editor, and trade-industry articles, as well as access to his high-level government contacts, who are servants of the industries he represents.

PETA’s recent successes in gaining fast-food concessions for humane conditions for farm animals sent ripples through the food and beverage service industry. About the same time that McDonald’s buckled to PETA’s demands,Berman changed his front group’s name and stepped up his attacks.

The key to Berman’s aggressive strategy is, in his own words, “to shoot the messenger ... we’ve got to attack their credibility as spokespersons,”—an interesting remark from someone whose background and funding so severely challenge his own credibility.

Second:
Guess WHAT?
IT ISN'T PETA'S JOB TO PLACE ANIMALS. THEY COLLECT SICK AND ABUSED ANIMALS THAT PEOPLE DON'T WANT.

As a True nonprofit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) corporation, it CAN'T JUST TAKE IN ANIMALS WITHOUT END. THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER CHOICE.

Third:
This is just to put some FACTS in your post.

facts

The facts seem to be contained in the report PETA submitted to the government about their activities. PETA has supposed ties with organizations which do place animals for adoption, yet only 12 of several THOUSAND were placed?

Your contention about CCF is very close to the absurd, since CCF is as openly a partisan non-profit org as is PETA.

You talk about corporations "buckling" to pressure from PETA and then have the gall to call Richard Berman an influence peddler?
