The Governor of New Jersey has access to a luxury, climate-controlled suite at Met Life Stadium. This luxury box (“the sweet suite”) is supposed to be used by the Governor for official entertainment, even though members of the Governor’s immediate family are often seen in that box. I made a OPRA request of the Governor’s Office asking for copies of documents that might indicate who spent time as a guest in the Governor’s sweet suite. My request was denied for “security reasons.” I never appealed the denial.

I wish you the best of luck with your own appeal. Whenever Christie leaves New Jersey, about a half dozen New Jersey State Troopers on the Governor’s security detail travel with him. The taxpayers of NJ are paying for these Troopers’ airline tickets, their overtime, their meals and all of their other travel-related expenses. I am sure that once Christie leaves office, we will learn that all of Christie’s out of state travel has cost the taxpayers of New Jersey MILLIONS of dollars.
