Mr. Karzai, you have two choices here. Fix this problem with your people or not. If you fix it, we will stay and help train your forces to fight terrorists who wish to use your country as a base of operations. If you do not fix it, we will pull out immediately. We will not help train your military forces, nor will we give you another US taxpayer dollar for any reason. Rest assured that if you select option 2 and any terrorist attacks a US target using your country as a safe operational base, or a safe haven - we will take action. We will bomb the crap out of the area we determine to be the terrorist locus. We will not worry about collateral damage, we will not apologize. Your choice.

WOW, THAT'S GOOOOD!!! I'm worried that Obama has comprimised our soldiers to the point where they can't function and the General's "Noble Afghan" will feel free to riot and murder with the cowardly non-defence of our two dead soldiers. I know the number has gone up. Obama has given tacit approval for the rioting barbarians to continue. He has done it purposely. This evil man hates America. Where can I register my hate?

If Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq or Iran ever give even a passing thought to restoration of their monarchies, there is one candidate they ought to consider above all others:
- Requires little to no training or experience acting like a king.
- Does not let litle things such as Constitutions written by dead, racist, Christian, white men stand in his way.
- Sympathizes with Islam to the extent that if you didn't know better you might take him for a Moslem.
- Proof of birth/citizenship not a problem. Can satisfy any requirements in a matter of days (same applies to educational background).
- Can have bags packed and ready to travel as early as January 2012.

I've been searching all over the web for the video of Karzai apologizing for the shooting death of two US Marines while inside one of his administration buildings. I'm sure the apology is out there... isn't it? I mean, our Prez gave one to him for a book (accidentally burned no less) that can be replaced with another one at the nearest bookstore, the two lives lost cannot be replaced.. You'd think those deaths would tip the "apology balance" in our direction.. I mean, didn't we shoo out the nasty Taliban and send thousands of our troops home in body bags while trying to liberate his country? That has to count for something doesn't it? I'll keep looking.. I just know it's out there somewhere... /end sarcasm

It's a legal thing.

To issue an official apology is also an acceptance of responsibility. As in, compensation due.

The burning was part of the ordered *duties* of the US military, which are under the command of Mr. Obama, who in turn is therefore responsible for their operations and conduct.

Mr. Karzai, on the other hand, is not responsible for the crimes of every nut in Afghanistan.

If a US civilian kills some Afghans, the US will "express regret" or "sympathy", but not "I apologize".

Doesn't matter what President is in, either. It's all diplomatic policy.

Shouldn't the White House apology have said: "We're sorry we burned Korans that were defaced by terrorists as they tried to send messages to each other by writing in those Korans"? When is the Afghan government going to say sorry for the billions of U. S. dollars they stole and sent to Swiss bank accounts? I vote we just nuke the place.

i am not a republican, but i am in favor of burning any fool in chief that apologizes for burning a book of evil lies. no, WE have not become fools, but some people have always been fools, and we will see if they remain foolish enough to reelect our muslim in chief.
