Tax Hikes: Inexplicable and Unfair

Liberals demand tax hikes on the rich but never say how removing more money from the private economy could help business prosper. While insisting that fairness requires tax increases on the wealthy, the Left can't explain what's fair about taking money from people who earn it and giving it to people who don't.
The idea that Washington needs to seize more private wealth to expand government defies the common wisdom of the American people who know that government is already too big and trying to do too much. The real fairness issue involves charges that some rich people pay lower tax rates than middle class Americans: a very rare occurrence, in fact, that's only correctable by eliminating loopholes, not raising rates on everyone—including the vast majority of wealthy families that already pay more than their fair share.
