Wait–– The Kavanaugh Accuser's Attorneys Were Going To Headline A Democratic Fundraiser

The Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh has gone off the rails. He might still be confirmed, but the rush to the end zone on this one, which looked smooth despite some rambunctious antics at his confirmation hearings, is over. The process has been plunged into chaos due to an allegation of sexual misconduct. The woman, Christine Blasey Ford, alleges that a drunken 17-year-old Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her at a party. She can’t remember who threw the party, who owned the house, how she got there, or how this whole gathering came about. Ford wrote a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) detailing this encounter, which was forwarded to her office through a California Democratic congresswoman. Feinstein received it in July. She sat on it for weeks, didn’t tell anyone about it, and apparently found the allegation that has created this media frenzy was not solid enough to bring up at the hearings much less when she actually received it. Why did she wait?

Feinstein referred the letter to the FBI, days before the full Senate Judiciary Committee was about to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination. It was a zero hour depth charge. Still, the Left torched Feinstein for sitting on the letter until the last moment. Ford now looks like a pawn in a character assassination attempt. She said she wanted to remain anonymous, so then why did you retain counsel and have an unnamed FBI agent administer a polygraph test. These are the building blocks for someone to go public. And speaking of lawyers, did you know Kavanaugh’s counsel was going to headline a Democratic fundraiser? They backed out, but one of Ford’s lawyers, Debra Katz, is anti-Trump, which adds to the hyper-charged political atmosphere with this whole episode:

Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin's campaign listed Brett Kavanaugh accuser's attorneys as headliners at a Washington fundraiser slated to take place next month, according to a copy of the invite obtained by CNN.

Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, is being represented by attorneys Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, both of whom are listed as headliners in a "cocktails and conversation" event for Baldwin, a Wisconsin Democrat who is facing re-election this fall. People are asked to contribute up to $1,000 to attend the October 1 event, and a source familiar with the matter said it is slated to take place at their law firm Katz, Marshall & Banks.

The timing comes at an awkward time as Ford is considering testifying Monday before the Senate Judiciary Committee and allege that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school in the 1980s

Now, Ford has agreed to testify, just not on Monday, which the Senate Judiciary Committee set aside should she agree. They also sent over a list of demands, which are not going to happen. They’re outrageous. We have a woman who can’t really remember key times, dates, and places concerning this encounter, three witnesses who dispute it, no evidence to verify the claim; it’s a 30-plus year old allegation, and the accuser solicited advice from lawyers, who are really Democratic operatives. Yeah, it’s not insane to suggest this is a hit job. It looks like it is.
