The Goldwater Myth?

Forty-five years later, an interesting historical debate is taking place regarding whether or not
Barry Goldwater's 1964 campaign helped -- or hurt -- the conservative cause.
Of course, most conservatives would argue that the '64 campaign was vital, inasmuch as it clearly defined conservatism -- and introduced America to
Ronald Reagan.
But David Frum argues that 1964 was an "unmitigated catastrophe for Republicans and conservatives."
... Over at AmSpecBlog, Jim Antle counters with some good thoughts on the subject.
Regardless of where you come down on this (I'm pro-Goldwater), Frum's arguments are, at least, interesting to consider ...
