Framing the Abortion Issue
Nov 04, 2008 09:47 AM EST
Today's Washington Times features a "
Plugged In Politics" section with a side-by-side comparison of Obama and McCain. Obama's position on abortion is described as "Favors abortion rights," while McCain's position is, "Opposes abortion rights."
McCain opposes abortion
rights??? Is there a "right" to abortion that I'm not aware of in the Constitution? Clearly, there
is a right to, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..."
Shouldn't that be Obama "Opposes the right to life" and McCain "Supports the right to life?"
... I would expect this from the WaPost or the NYT, but it's disappointing to see this framing coming form the WaTimes...
