... Most modern-day conventions have no meaning.  There is no "real" news that comes out of them -- just "made-for-TV" news.  There is a chance that this convention could actually matter ... that the speeches from McCain and Palin about leadership might actually be tailored to address a specific crisis that is happening right now.
