Sharpton Says He May Flee US If Trump Becomes President

If Donald Trump becomes president of the United States, Rev. Al Sharpton may be booking a one-way ticket out of the country. That, at least, is what he told attendees at a Center for American Progress Action event on Thursday.

"If Donald Trump is the nominee, I'm open to support anyone [else], while I'm also reserving my ticket to get out of here if he wins, only because he'd probably have me deported anyway," Sharpton said.

Why Trump, if elected, would deport Sharpton remains a mystery, however.

Sharpton has yet to throw his support behind either former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“I have not decided who I will support for president,” Sharpton said earlier this month, adding, “ I think we are in the midst of a process, and that process has to be detailed policy and that process has to include collective gathering.”
