Despite a bill criminalizing the private transfer of firearms failing in the Senate last week and despite more Senators voting for national carry reciprocity than more gun control, Vice President Joe Biden is continuing to push President Obama's anti-gun agenda by meeting with "gun safety groups" at the White House today.

As I write in the May issue of Townhall Magazine, President Obama still has options on the table when it comes to implementing more gun control through executive action and vowed last week after his defeat to keep pushing the issue.

As Guy wrote yesterday, people really aren't that upset about new gun control measures failing.

When the Senate defeated every single amendment to proposed gun control legislation last week, Harry Reid was forced to withdraw the entire bill.  An enraged President Obama made a scathing statement at the White House, flanked by Newtown parent and Gabby Giffords.  His message?  Average Americans are disgusted with Congress' callous, dysfunctional inaction, and those responsible will pay a price at the ballot box.  To which actual average Americans have responded with a collective meh.
