Five Fun Things From Gunsite Academy:

1. Training in what is known as the “scrambler.”

2. The food. Mona Lisa’s catering, based in the Prescott, Arizona, has been providing lunches to Gunsite students for twelve years now and they're really good.

4. Night shooting. Thursday night, the instructors took the class out to the square range to practice during non-daylight hours. The majority of violent confrontations occur between dusk and dawn. There are several different ways to assess a threat in the dark, but you have to be able to see a threat before actively engaging them. Holding a flashlight in the left hand and and gun in the right is one way to identify a home invader or someone approaching. Another option is to attach a flashlight to a firearm. The bottom line is, you must be able to identify whether something is a threat before taking action.
