Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country, not New York City, and has the highest murder rate. In 2013 we've already seen nearly a dozen murders in the Windy City but that isn't stopping MSNBC host Ed Schultz from calling for even more gun control and saying it "hardly exists."

The gun laws and the gun violence in Chicago is a helluva lot different than it is in New York City. There's two different worlds when it comes to gun violence, it's not even close. New York City is not, you know, an all-safe zone or what not, I'm not trying to make that case. But a city that has got strict, the strictest gun laws in America put forth by Mayor Bloomberg, versus the gun laws that apparently don't even exist in Chicago, you've got two totally different numbers when it comes to lives lost.

Chicago is example A of why strict gun control on law abiding citizens only empowers criminals by turning the law abiding into victims. Chicago is also an example of how gang bangers ignore gun control laws. The city already has the toughest laws in the country on the books, the only thing left to do would be to ban guns completely which a) wouldn't work to reduce crime b) has already been ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in McDonald v. Chicago. Schultz's comments about New York having stricter gun control laws than Chicago are also incorrect and further prove ignorance on gun control as a whole by the host. He correct in saying New York isn't a safe zone, after all, the city does have a high violent crime rate and very strict gun control laws but Chicago is far worse on both counts.

Schultz's comments give us a clear picture of where the far left, including President Obama, are coming from on gun control. They don't want control, they want gun bans.
