When it comes to taking the fight to media liberals, Newt Gingrich is in a class unto himself. Here he is suggesting that Chris Matthews might be a racist based on his implicit assumption that political talk about food stamps and welfare is aimed at African Americans -- right to Matthews' face. The perfect follow-up to yesterday's fracas:
"What kind of racist thinking do you have?"
The MSNBC host shrugs off Newt's question, casually stating that it's obvious to all involved the "game" Republicans are playing. As Gingrich nails him with facts, Matthews defensively insists that his guest isn't "winning" the debate. Convincing, no?
