Vlad IF anyone has a right to say something about Ground Zero it IS
the family members of the murdered victims. You defend your point by providing proof that no all family members are against this insult to all Americans. Just because some people are softheaded and think because there is freedom of religion etc and haven't a clue about the real purpose behind this mosque doesn't mean it is
right to allow it. As for Bloomberg and other politicians who support it..follow the money..Bloomie has extensive financial interests in the Gulf States so his altruism is rather suspect.
I learned a year and a half after the fact that I had a family member who escaped the Towers but was last I heard
suffering survivors guilt. He is a distant...

I didn't say that. I merely asked if being related to someone who died on 9/11 made an opinion somehow more worthy or valid.

Build it. The practical effect is exactly opposite of what its supporters claim as its intentions. Heck, even the discussion is divisive.
I liked Stein's point about having a monument to a successful attack in place while at the location of the former WTC sits a seven story hole.
Kum-ba-ya.

A Review:
Nine years and two days ago folks got up, had coffee, kissed their loved ones goodbye and headed out to start the day.
Some caught a flight, others went to work at in Washington, DC. and in lower Manhattan.
Only a short time later they were murdered by Radical, Islamic, Muslim Terrorists. The slaughter was committed in the name of the Muslim religion.
That was then.
TODAY, a radical, Muslim nutjob in Iran is about to stone a woman to death. Her crime? She's a widow.
TODAY, "moderate" Muslims have a message to the families of the 3,000 people who got up, had coffee, kissed loved ones goodbye, headed off to work and caught a flight.
Here's the message:
"We are going to build a mosque to honor our brother Muslims....

The surviving families are pretty well evenly divided on this issue.
Shame on anyone on either side who tries to exploit their pain.

Please provide a reference for your statement about the surviving family individuals being at an equilibrium as to the disposition of this issue.
And Vlad....., if you can, please enjoin Bali (raelie, rachel, et al) with same request.
Thank you.

That's good, "separate but connected." Who knows what that means?
Then you jump from that toe "do you think there's a problem?" Uh, yes, Al, every American thinks that terrorist attacks are a problem. Not every American thinks burning Korans is the solution, though.

Vlad,
How can the burning of Korans in protest, be compared to the burning of people, the slamming airplanes into buildings the firing a side arem at your supposed brother's in arms?
They are not comparable. Neither do I think it is a good idea to burn American flags in pre-emptive protest, but that's okay with you, because after all, it is style(book burning) over substance(thousand's of Americans dead)

Yes, Vlad.....It is my opinion that they ("the families of 9/11 victims) most certainly do carry more weight than us! We, you and I and these opinionated bloggers, DO NOT have a dog in this race.
Accordingly, I feel that the grieving families: husbands/wives; mothers/fathers; children (sons/daughters); brothers/sisters; aunts/uncles; grandmothers/grandfathers; cousins, and the extended familial in-laws (approx: 10K to 20K).....all carry more weight than "OTHERS". Actually, that question was rather insensitive.
So, we (you and I) should be quiet and neutral.
Again, you stated that the grief stricken families are divided equally: please provide proof that this circumstance is factual. I do not have nor have I observed any...

Watched the clip. Replayed it for my wife. This woman presented the best case for not building the mosque yet. I like her thinking.

These Muslims could care less what American's think! They clearly despise America and want to desecrate Ground Zero in the name of Islam.
