Absolutely aaaaamazing! Here we have the AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer, Elizabeth Shuler, sharing her knowledge with us as she promotes the union's "Get Out The Vote" effort.

I still think Richard Trumka, the AFL-CIO president beats her with this comment. Note what is posted on the screen while she praises Obama's job creation: the rise in unemployment to 9.6%!

That's right. Bush lost 8 million jobs by 2009. During his ENTIRE 8 years, he only brought in 1.2 million jobs - compared to Clinton's 22 million. At this point, given the difference of jobs lost to jobs gained, Bush is still about 6 million or so in the negatives.

Your 2008 numbers can all be laid at the Bush's feet. The stimulus wasn't even passed till mid-way through 2009. And again, nobody is disputing that unemployment is still a big problem and that the stimulus didn't do as well as expected. But the subject here is Bush's job numbers vs. Obama's.

The stimulus was passed in February, genius. The beginning of July is halfway through the year. Do you and Jemel take math classes together? Regardless, it hasn't worked from the day it was passed to today; that's 18 months of watching joblessness grow when Barry's top economic advisor said it wouldn't go over 8% with the stimulus in place. We haven't been in sniffing distance of 8% yet. We haven't been below 9% in over a year. BTW, I'm not a very firm believer that extending unemployment benefits (they're at a staggering 99 weeks now - that converts to nearly 23 months, Vladimir) is helping to motivate the unemployed, but Obama keeps extending them. Most depressions don't even last that long. Could The One know something about...

Doesn't that show that Bush's record is not as bad? Has math changed that much? Or do we only compare the one number of the three that favors Obama? Seems like we're comparing numbers from just one year's quarters in each case.
