I tell you what, Anne. If I couldn't do any better than Bush, Rove and the rest of the stupid and ignorant neocons, I'd cosider myself a failure.
"You want accountability. I want success. Different priorities. Whatever."
Having accountabilty goes a long ways to insuring success by insuring the incompetent and corrupt are weeded out. As long as it is business as usual the same dismal results will be all to show.

Why would I go to Scheuer or Bernsten when I have you as an expert on geopolitical strategy?
You would fit right in at my Thanksgiving dinner table. There's lots of self-proclaimed experts there, too, who are completely incapable of a conversation and merely prattle on to get their talking points in.
You want accountability. I want success. Different priorities. Whatever.

"What Bush and Rove did is irrelevant and re-hashing it doesn't make us any safer."
No, it is relevant in the meaning that no one has learned anything, save a few of us who understood this in the first place.
"I am not an expert, I don't claim to be an expert and I am not capable of recounting all the steps that got us here."
Neither is Karl Rove. If you want a political hatchet man, get someone like Rove or Emanual. If you want someone who has some grasp of geopolitical and military strategy, you get some folks like Scheuer and Berntsen.
"I never said you were right or wrong. My point is IT DOESN'T MATTER."
Maybe not to you, but it does me and others who are tired of politicians regardless of party...

How 'bout you tell me when you did your time in the desert, and then I'll tell you when I did mine?
"Not done crapping on Obama yet. His new Afgan policy will be for the troops to surround cities and "protect" the citizens from the enemy. Translated into real english that means avoiding the enemy and it is deriliction of duty at best. You do not win a war by running and hiding from your enemy. You win a war by smashing their equipment and killing their people until they scream for mercy."
Aside from the fact that you clearly don't know the meaning of "dereliction of duty," but decided to throw the term in there to sound like you...

When "people like you" quit pretending that the meltdown occurred during his first term.
"You tell me when Obama actually acts like a commander in chief, which includes taking responsibility and making decisions?"
From the day he was sworn in, actually. If you want a more public example? How 'bout tonight? Thirty thousand more men and women into Afghanistan, everybody out of Iraq on a timetable. Those sound like awfully big decisions to me, ones he's clearly taking responsibility for.

Oh for God's sake. Let me spell it out for you
Left vs right. You mentioned that this issue is far beyond left and right. I don't need this pointed out to me for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is my son in the military. If we all die in a terrorist attack, it won't be only Dems or Repubs that die. The enemy doesn't care left or right and neither do I.
As I previously conceded, I am no expert on this issue. "MY guy" might well have screwed up. He was my president and I supported his efforts to keep me and mine safe. The same way I do President Obama. The same way I would have then-General Washington and President Lincoln when all their war efforts didn't go as initially planned.
Back to my point: my...

No, we're not. You wrote a reply to me, not the other way around, therefore, tell me where I am wrong. The truth of the matter is that you can't answer it because you can't face the fact your guy screwed up big time. Because he screwed up, more Americans are going to be wounded and killed, not to mention all the money that will be piled on top of the debt.
"And I've got a kid in the military, so don't lecture me on left vs right."
You having a kid in the military, assuming that this is the case is immaterial to what I wrote and is a cheap dodge. As for "lecturing" you that would be a waste of my time. Armored piercing rounds haven't been invented for bullet heads at this...

And since I don't own a TV and wouldn't know Hannity style bait and switch even if one of my teenagers tried it on me ... well, for all I know Hannity learned it from me using it on my teenagers.
And I've got a kid in the military, so don't lecture me on left vs right.
My point, not well made, was that Obama needs to own this war and stand up and be Commander in Chief. What Bush and Rove did is irrelevant and re-hashing it doesn't make us any safer. I am not an expert, I don't claim to be an expert and I am not capable of recounting all the steps that got us here.
But what I do know is that Obama is in charge. And he needs to take charge.

Not so fast, Anne. I didn't write anything about Obama. What my post is about is Rove's attempt to whitewash history.
Now, how about answering my question, instead of trying some Hannity style bait and switch?

Reminder: Obama wasn't drafted for this gig. He not only volunteered, he spent a fortune getting this gig.

Thank you, but it wasn't a case of restraint. I just read your post.
Anyway, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. Why don't you explain to me why the Bush administration doesn't deserve this credit, seeing how they had seven years and two months to address the problem?
Here's a better idea. Why don't you read Jaw Breaker, by Gary Berntsen and explain why he is wrong, assuming you still remember how to read.
Contrary to what you might believe, there is more to this than the simplistic "left verses right" nonsense.

It would be better if there were some fake punch sound effects as rove b'slapped lauer, but it's pretty good just like it is.
Rove schooling lauer on the facts. That was just clean fun.
It's tough for obamabi now as he tries to seem interested in Afghanistan. If he could just do health care without all these stupid distractions.
He scampered off for some photo opps in the situation room for a while, to try and stop the inexorable slide of his poll #'s, but it didn't help.
Tonights photo opp at West Point ain't gonna help either. The die's been cast. This guy is a coward, and a euroweenie, and a marxist, and a progressive, and...oh well, I could go on and on.
Lets just say he's toast. His name...

"I don't think Obama ever had his eye on the Afghan ball."
One thing for sure, Bush and Rove sure as hell didn't.
Rove's claim about things going south only in the last two years is simply BS. The situation was deteriorating long before they finally started to look over the mess in Afghanistan.
As for Rove's attempt to sidetrack the issue by bringing up Obama's vote is beside the point, the point being that the Bush administration completely loused this up when there was a small chance things might have turned out well.

Liberal-Narrative----his attempt to place all blame on the Bush administration for Afghanistan----until the audience is once again "recalibrated"---this time by Rove's better recollection than Lauers.
The FACT that OBummer voted AGAINST funding of the Afghan war.
Once again, the Left's "Narrative" exposed for the utter B.S. it always proves to be.

Obama voted against funding of the Afghan war in 2007.
Now, Loser-Liberal Thomas Friedman admits---for the first time---that Fort Hood "killer", Hasan followed a muslim "narrative".
Just for a moment, consider all of the Liberals who denied any and all references to Hasan as a muslim and/or motivated by jihadists.
I made persistent references to Septic Tank's very first response to me--calling me a "wingnut" for mentioning that the killer was a muslim. Just for mentioning that he was a muslim.
Now---today, Friedman writes this in the NYT:
America vs. The Narrative
By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
What should we make of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who apparently killed 13 innocent people at Fort Hood?
Here’s...

Obama voted the correct way (whatever that was) but His telepromptor voted opposite His wishes.
Obama is the ultimate liberal politician - He will take exact opposite positions on an issue and then try to make you think He's thoughtful because He will try to split it down the middle without admitting that He goofed or lied or is insincere and doesn't give a craaaap.

And....he doesn't know a damn thing about being President. He will be the cause of hundreds if not thousands of soldiers dying in Afghanistan becasu ehe wasnted to flex his ignorant black muscle, and I can only hope they turn away from him and revile him for the lying, ineligible anti-american traitor he is. out there please explain to me why when the troops were running out of food, ammo and equipment, Obama voted not to send them anymore. Is that how you liberals win wars? By depriving your own troops of beans and bullets? A**holes.

Jihadists regognize they can break Obama's back.
And the terrorists also understood they couldn't break Bush.
That's why Bush won in Iraq.
That's also why Obama doesn't have the strength to win in Afghanistan.
