I never had the misfortune to have been ship's company on a bird farm, but I did ride most (all?) of 'em on the East Coast on admiral's staffs -- and shotgunned most every one on the West Coast.

Everybody to his/her own kick, but bird farms wasn't my bag. I hung with tin cans and cruisers until I advanced myself off of 'em, after which they dragged me kicking and screaming down the brow.

I was with a couple of air dale commands in my early Navy days. TACRON 21 and FLETACSUPPRON ONE, back when it flew both cargo and VIP aircraft. We hauled the CNO/CMC/senators/congresscreeps all over the world. I think the AF does that now, although the Navy still has some nice VIP air...

Refusing to exercise and eating 5000 calories a day has turned this nation into a bunch of fatasses and everyone has to pay for their choices. What we need in this country is a government that can tell people to quit pigging out and hit the gym enforced by law. That would be just another federal program to promote the general welfare.

Everyone has to be responsible to society for their health or they are a drag on limited resources. No one would lose any real freedom if our messiah put us all on a diet and a serious work out routine.

Quit rigging the market with free care at emergency rooms. If people have to start paying for their care, it is a greater incentive to get the insurance they have the 'opportunity' for than threats of fines or prison.

Charles Wesley - many of the people that want to send folks to JAIL for not buying health insurance want to let rapists and killers go free. Go figure.

This is all the healthcare reform we need. Of the supposed 30 million people without health insurance now, 10 million are eligible for insurance through work or medicaid or medicare and have not applied for it. Maybe with the threat of prison they would activate the health insurance they qualify for.

15 million are illegal. They will still get free health care. That only leaves approximately 5 million that actually can't afford or get health insurance. Surely, we can find someway to help these people without ruining the best health care system in the world.

For DECADES illegal aliens who had NO insurance went to emergency rooms a got free healthcare on OUR dime but the Dems did not want to send them back to their own countries.
