MRCTV’s Dan Joseph has scored another victory in his ongoing video series. Be sure to watch through to the end, too, in order to hear a special message from President Ronald Reagan himself:

Not only did we just commemorate the ten year anniversary of President Reagan’s passing; we marked the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings, too. I wonder, then, if an alarming number of college students cannot name the decade in which he served as president, how many are aware of what happened on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944?

Of course, I’m willing to give most students the benefit of the doubt here. But at the same time, I can't help but wonder how the students interviewed above graduated high school if they couldn’t even answer basic and rudimentary questions about modern American history. Parting question: Are they to blame, or is our public education system?

“If we forget what we did, we won’t know who we are,” President Reagan says in the clip above. “I’m warning of an eradication of that American memory that could result ultimately in an erosion of the American spirit.”

Thirty years later, consider ourselves sufficiently warned.
