Was the US Warned in Writing About Bomber?

The UK Daily Mail is reporting that Saudi Arabia warned the US in writing about Tamerlan Tsarnaev as recently as last year.  Make no mistake: These warnings were separate from those transmitted by Russia, and Saudi Arabia denied Tsarnaev permission to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.

What's more:

The Saudis' warning to the U.S. government was also shared with the British government. 'It was very specific’ and warned that 'something was going to happen in a major U.S. city,' the Saudi official said during an extensive interview.

It 'did name Tamerlan specifically,' he added. The 'government-to-government' letter, which he said was sent to the Department of Homeland Security at the highest level . . .

Not surprisingly, the Obama administration is denying such a letter was ever received.

So will the press investigate? It's revealing that this report has appeared in a British paper, rather than an American one.  But imagine the feeding frenzy had it come to light that the US received such a written warning about the 9/11 terrorists.  Hysteria would reign.
