My Townhall column notes that in President Obama's relatively short and extremely lucky career, he's had the happy experience of being promoted before there's been time to assess the effectiveness of his work in his former position(s).
His eagerness to move off the economy and start "reforming" health care, energy policy and more seems to reflect this phenomenon.
But given the ineffectiveness so far of his efforts to turn the economy around -- indeed, the role his administration has played in driving the market down -- the American people are entitled to tell the President to slow down: Let's see how he performs in healing the economy, before we start authorizing his plans for sweeping change across the board.
