Gay Marriage Illegal Again in California
Nov 05, 2008 08:15 AM EST
Proposition 8 has passed.
This measure will impose a constitutional ban on gay marriage, thus making it illegal again for gays to marry in the state of California.
This is a crippling blow for the gay rights movement. The number of states where it is legal to marry has now been reduced from three to two.
Update: Florida and Arizona also passed measures to ban gay marriage. Arkansas passed a ballot initiative to prohibit gays from adopting children.
