WASHINGTON - President Obama says that if you start a successful business that creates lots of jobs, you didn't make it happen -- "somebody else made that happen."
William, Paul and James Newland and their sister, Christine Ketterhagen, who together own Hercules Industries, have no right to conduct their family business in a manner that comports with their Catholic faith.
Small practice doctors testify about how Obamacare will affect their practice during July 19th's Small Business Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight and Regulations hearing.
The president's defenders have claimed he either misspoke last week at a Roanoke, Va., campaign event or that what he said is true. Both defenses have merit. Obama surely didn't mean to say something that politically idiotic so plainly. And it's true that no man's accomplishments are entirely his own. We're all indebted to others, and we all rely on government to provide some basic things. Only the straw-men conservatives of Obama's imagination yearn for an America with no roads and bridges.
Dear Ruler: First, let me say how thrilled I am that you went off-teleprompter last week. This “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen” thing was just wonderful. Now I know how Chris Matthews felt.
In a Romney Campaign ad, one small business owner questions why Obama doesn't believe that he built the company on his own. "Did somebody take out the loan on my father's house to finance the equipment?" Jack Gilchrist asks. "Through hard work and a little bit of luck, we built this business. Why are you demonizing it?" "We are the solution, not the problem."
Obama has no clue how these small businesses work, and whether or not they “need” that money.
With a second term for Obama, the world-leading America we have known and hoped to leave to our children will be gone. Last Friday's jobs report confirms that Obama is well on his way to transforming America into a third world country, with declining living standards and perpetual economic stagnation.
2.5% = nearly 900,000 small businesses hurt by Obama's tax proposal.
The economic experts are worried.
During a House Small Business Committee hearing today, Frank Knapp was invited by the democrats to testify on behalf of South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce. He was quickly exposed, however, by Rep. Mulvaney (R-SC) as a liberal radio host and supporter of the EPA's regulatory assault on small business.
WEST NEWTON, Pa. — Bill "Smokey" Baird is tinkering with a customer's bike in his shop along the Great American Passage trail connecting Homestead with Washington, D.C. A family of seven walks in to rent bikes for the day. The owner of West Newton Bicycle Shop, and of an auto-body shop across the road, sends them on their way with a variety of bikes.
If there are 27 million small business owners and 23% have not received any pay for a year, there are 6.21 million business owners who received no paycheck for at least a year.
Acts of faith are performed each day in this country, and we are all the better for it. But sadly, Barack Obama does not seem to have faith in the American system, nor does he believe in American exceptionalism, nor does he believe that Americans can make it on their own without government handouts.
The Obama Administration’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has requested all federal agencies to cut their FY2014 budgets by 5%. Not too surprisingly, these “cuts” are being heralded as an example of new, fiscal prudence by every Democrat seeking office. If only.
