Some conservative commentators spent their Presidents’ Day holiday ruminating over Barack Obama’s evil intentions, or denouncing the chief executive as an alien interloper and fanatical ideologue perversely determined to damage the Republic. Instead, they might have focused on the history of the John Adams’ White House prayer to develop a more effective context for their criticism.

Moderation-- at least verbal moderation-- is suddenly in vogue.President Obama's rhetoric has moderated, even if his policies and practices have not.

The battle in Madison, Wis., between new Gov. Scott Walker and the public-sector union hacks offers an amazing study in journalistic double standards. The same national media that have spent the last two years drawing devil's horns and Klan hoods on the tea party protesters have switched sides with lightning speed.

The liberals have unjustly blamed Sarah Palin for many things, but there's one thing for which she is probably responsible: making feminism the hot topic that it has become today.

Over the last decade or so, as the giants of the founding generation of modern American conservatism have died, each has been rehabilitated into a gentleman-statesman of a bygone era of conservative decency and open-mindedness.

Though tolerance is not the highest virtue and hypocrisy is not the lowest sin, liberals have a dearth of the former while demanding it and an abundance of the latter while forbidding it.

The most common left-wing objection to the right is that it wants to control others' lives. But, both in America and elsewhere, the threat to personal liberty has emanated far more from the left.

On May 2, Republicans will gather at the Reagan Library in Santa Barbara, Calif., for the first GOP presidential debate of the 2012 campaign. It's not clear which candidates will be there, but here's a safe bet: Each will declare himself, or herself, a Reagan Republican.

For a brief moment at the close of last year we were regrettably back to discussing ObamaCare’s fictionary “death panels”, the phrase Governor Sarah Palin coined to describe Medicare reimbursement of voluntary, end-of-life counseling.

People who don't follow politics tend to believe that conservatives
and liberals are just flip sides of the same coin. In other words,
conservatives are pro-life, pro-gun, and fiscally conservative while
liberals are pro-choice, anti-gun, and want to tax and spend, but
otherwise, there are no real differences.
