A major political question in the run-up to the 2012 election is: How effective will the Christian Right be? The recent mass-prayer rally in Houston led by Texas Governor Rick Perry is the latest indication of the potential potency of the union of politics and faith.

Move over Mitt Romney. Rick Perry has a bigger problem to defend from his tenure as governor. Remember the NAFTA Superhighway project?

Stories started surfaced earlier this week saying that Perry, the longest serving chief executive in Texas history, would use the conservative gathering to remove all speculation about a run for the White House.

It’s not Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Fraser, and it may not even be a fight, but much is being written about a feud between Governor Perry’s team and former George W. Bush loyalists. In particular, how a Perry run could affect the fortunes of Karl Rove.

Ours is nation built on liberty, the ideals of Western Civilization, and prayer. It is also a nation under assault by people who wish to erase prayer from the list: this much was evident in the vitriol hurled at Texas Gov. Rick Perry when he recently called his fellow governors and President Obama to join him for prayer for our nation.

"In a presidential straw poll conducted at the Western Conservative Summit Perry came in second to Herman Cain, but since the politically inexperienced Cain won't win the nomination, Perry's finish demonstrates strength among at least some conservatives."

Texas Republican governor and potential presidential candidate Rick Perry will headline a "Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis" on Aug. 6 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

To begin, Perry’s home state of Texas has 152 delegates, second in size only to California’s 172. With its congressional district/caucus delegate apportionment formula, the Governor would certainly attract the overwhelming majority of his own state’s delegate support. Since he ostensibly plays well in the south, Perry can reasonably be expected to win the region.

As if the public isn't fed up with racism and sexism in politics, political pundits, short on creativity and long on mimicry, have added another "ism" when discussing the possibility of Gov. Rick Perry of Texas announcing his run for president.

As a conservative with some experience in presidential politics, it's more than amusing for me to watch left-of-center mainstream reporters and pundits work overtime to lock the 2012 GOP contenders into 'conventional wisdom.'

Maybe by the time it is said and done, we will have a candidate, be it a Perry, a Bachman a Cain or a Paul who will speak truth to power and the American People. Lord knows we haven’t had someone like that in a while. Whoever has the guts to say that in a clear voice has my vote.

The conservatives, Republicans, independents, and even the growing number of Democrats who embrace traditional values and strongly oppose Barack Obama and his socialist tendencies, are tired. They are bone tired, worried beyond words, and quite frankly sick of one pretend GOP candidate after the other leaving them at the altar.

Current Texas Governor Rick Perry will, in all likelihood, be President of the United States in January of 2013. Having already said that on Fox News and the nationally syndicated Mancow Radio Experience, I guess it's time for me to now put into print what I see forming in front of me. So I did.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's lower economic growth estimates for this year and next diminish President Obama's already weakened prospects for a second term.

The headline for the big GOP debate should read “ROMNEY SOLIDIFIES HIS STATUS AS FRONTRUNNER” but the appropriate sub-head may prove even more significant in the long run: “Bachmann Makes Energetic and Well-Received Debut.”

Achieving the American Dream becomes increasingly difficult when that dream is dependent upon bureaucrats and lawmakers in Washington who may or may not have your best interests at heart.

Republican primary voters have a very strong field of potential opponents for President Obama in November 2012 from which to choose.
