In this March 21, 2012, photo, Republican presidential candidate, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum speaks at Superior Energy in Harvey, La. It's a good thing the GOP presidential race slows down from here: The candidates are even more tired than the voters. And, boy, does it show. Santorum's been making the kind of flubs that come with exhaustion. Newt Gingrich got caught sleeping on camera a few weeks back, and looked like he just might topple over. Mitt Romney has slept in his own bed just twice since Christmas. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)

FILE - In this Sept. 22, 2011 file photo, actor Robert De Niro is seen in New York. De Niro opened a fundraiser starring Michelle Obama by listing her Republican rivals and jokingly suggesting that America isn't "ready for a white first lady." Newt Gingrich was not amused. And the Obama campaign says the actor's quip was inappropriate. (AP Photo/Jason DeCrow, File)

FILE - In this Jan. 16, 2012, file photo Republican presidential candidates former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, center, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, left, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Millions of dollars spent by Romney allies on TV ads attacking his two main rivals have helped him pull ahead in the race. Campaign veterans say that Santorum and Gingrich feel the commercials were pointedly unfair, and that's a big reason they keep fighting despite Romney's delegate count.
