Put these guys on Comedy Central. Put ‘em in an asylum … a mandatory restitution program … jail perhaps … or a witness protection program, if they turn state’s evidence on other perpetrators. But keep them away from our money – and our energy, economic, healthcare and education policies.

Obama’s cap and trade campaign promise died. Ethanol is on the budget chopping block. Switching to wind and solar is not proving to be as easy as expected. Environmentalists admitted defeat. But, wait! They have organizations set up, offices with leases, and employees who needed to be paid. A new approach was needed.

On July 30, 2011 a few thousand teacher union activists descended upon Washington D.C. for a “Save Our Schools” rally. The keynote speaker that day was actor Matt Damon, who took the occasion to bash standardized testing. You know, virtually the only thing used to assess student achievement and a tool for teacher accountability.

David Suzuki has never met, debated or even spoken with my colleague, scientist Willie Soon. But as more people dismiss Mr. Suzuki’s scare stories about global warming cataclysms, Suzuki has resorted to personal attacks against Dr. Soon and others who disagree with him.

Recall began as a progressive idea around the turn of the 20th Century, when the villains were law makers in the pockets of the “robber barons” who controlled large banks, railroads and oil. Today’s robber baron is the massive government/union axis that sucks money from the private sector and which always –always--wants more.

On August 4, Gore was speaking at the Aspen Institute FOCAS seminar in Colorado. The minute plus clip is the most interesting part of an hour-and-half long snooze fest—though he does perk it up when he talks about how climate change has fallen from the front burner of the public psyche. He uses several different fecal terms to describe the various valid theories regarding climate change.

One of the biggest factors behind whether companies hire or not is regulation. It's expensive to run a business, and if government agencies are saddling you with more and more expensive rules, you're simply not going to have as much money left over to hire additional employees.

Addressing the declining public alarm about global warming, Edward Maibach, director of the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University, said, “The erosion in both public concern and public trust about global warming should be a clarion call for people and organizations trying to educate the public about this important issue.”

Frustrated that Congress refused to enact cap-tax-and-trade, President Obama unleashed EPA to promulgate thousands of pages of rules governing carbon dioxide, “toxic” pollutants that have already been reduced dramatically, “cross-state transport” of emissions, and other power plant operations. All tout health claims based on virtual reality computer models, cherry-picked research and illusory benefits.

Some people have attacked the credibility of the Forbes article. I knew in advance they would. They miss thr real point. The real point is about the silliness of cap-and-trade as a solution.

Hundreds of United Nations global warming scientists just met in France via Earth-destroying air travel, ironically at a time of unseasonably cool temperatures across France, to once again justify their funding.

To say MSNBC is a left-wing propaganda outfit is to say the sun rises in the east. It qualifies as a “duh” statement. But that wasn’t always the case, nor were the embarrassing ratings.

Another week and another round of comments and answers from my friends, both conservative and progressive. I see Lilly and Goshawk and Odin and James. And the week wouldn't be complete if bin Leaded didn't resort to name-calling. I suppose if you are going to write 30,000 words per week on a message board, you are bound to call someone a name sooner or later.

Just in the last few days, we came across the following four reports that show yet again that all the homage paid to the green gods has not resulted in the benefits promised, and often creates a whole new set of problems.

Maybe by the time it is said and done, we will have a candidate, be it a Perry, a Bachman a Cain or a Paul who will speak truth to power and the American People. Lord knows we haven’t had someone like that in a while. Whoever has the guts to say that in a clear voice has my vote.
