The main problem is saturation. I see endless miles of restaurants on strips nearby. Those restaurants include Steak & Shake, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Pizza Hut, Subway, China Express, Chili's, Chipotle, Panera, and other chains intermixed with some local eateries.
Now we have literally seen it all. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida takes a few sips of water in delivering the Republican response to the State of the Union address, and it becomes the coldest "splash" the media have allegedly seen in years, but the U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- with gasoline as high as we've seen it -- advocates increasing the gas tax, spilling an entire gallon of potentially politically flammable liquid with virtually no media interest.

To hear President Obama talk you’d think the last four years demonstrate that the country is headed in the right direction. According to the President, life in America is pretty rosy and only getting better. Unfortunately, for many families that just isn’t true.
President Obama has declined to outline a second term agenda. He doesn't say what he would do about the fiscal cliff that looms in just a couple of months. He hasn't addressed the glaring challenge of an aging population and entitlement spending that is careening toward insolvency. (On the contrary, he has significantly hastened the emergency by piling on new entitlement spending.) He hasn't proposed policies to improve the economy. He promises nothing more on Iran than to maintain ineffective sanctions.
In the Hofstra presidential debate, President Obama said: "when I took office, the price of gasoline was $1.80. Why is that? Because the economy was on the verge of collapse." Wrong. Prices collapsed because we signaled to the world that we were finally moving forward with developing America's massive offshore oil and gas resources - and they shot back up when Obama reimposed the offshore ban.
Governor Mitt Romney strongly supports North American energy independence as the foundation of renewed US employment and prosperity. President Obama is waging war on fossil fuels, job creation, and efforts to end our economic recession and reduce dependence on Middle Eastern and Russian oil.
