In another not surprising turn of events, the Obama administration has decided to overstep and will now give funding to Detroit.
Of course, I can understand why Detroit Mayor Dave Bing was outraged by these insensitive and gratuitous remarks – especially in light of the Boston city bombings last April that killed three and left hundreds injured.
In an interview last week about Detroit’s bankruptcy, I explained that the city got in trouble because of growing dependency and an ever-rising burden of government spending. I also warned that the federal government faces the same challenge.
