Liberal vs Liberal: All these Right-Wingers articles congratulating Romney on his debate win miss the real reason Romney was so effective and President Obama was put on the defense. Romney came to the debate not as an extremist Right-Wing candidate slavishly subservient to his base. He came to this debate to argue as a moderate, independent Rino prepared to show how willing he is to compromise and accommodate the Liberals. The perfect example is how he got Romneycare passed by working with the Democratic controlled Massachusetts legislature. We also found out he has some love for government regulations and wants to keep some things in Obamacare. It all shows how toxic any real association with the extremists in the GOP can be if he ....

...does not show some independency and a mind of his own. The Right-Wingers should be careful what they wish for. If he is elected he will do the same thing to them as POTUS. This man has no principles. He is like a chameleon constantly changing its strips and color to suit the occasion. It is something he can pull out of his bag of tricks to fool independents and moderate voters. But when he is addressing his base, then he is ‘pandering’ and telling them what they want to hear. I am elated to report to you something you surely already know: Mitt Romney trounced President Obama in their first debate. The rout was so decisive that even the liberal media cannot spin it the other way.

There is no need to grade this on a curve. Romney did very well in absolute, not relative, terms. He didn't just do well compared with Obama's poor performance; he really shone, in every category. He proved himself to be very knowledgeable on policy and business, quick on his feet and able to deliver zingers as graciously as possible under the circumstances.
