Faith Based Economics: Lurita Doan gives us a hint on how Right-Wingers plan to govern upon returning to power. It will all be faith-based. In a “you’re on your own’ economy it has to be. One has to rely on faith to obtain the basics of life like a home, food, clothing, medical care, education. And if you are homeless, broke, hungry, sick, jobless, uneducated just blame yourself for not having enough faith. That is what the capitalists wants you to do in order to divert attention from who is really attacking workers and alternative systems to the plutocracy they plan to construct. With that much faith, you will never question who is really $ crew ing you. The problem with her essay is not faith but demand that helps small businesses to ..

If the government would stop taking so much of our wealth, charities would more efficiently handle the things you are crying about.

Business isn't the enemy. An out of control government is.

.....survive. And there are good reasons working and middle class Americans do not have enough money to spend to keep the economy and small businesses going: 1. Wages and benefits fallen off 2. Value of homes fallen with the housing bubble 3. maxed out credit cards and ability to loan and borrow money 4. fewer Americans can afford college education 5. tax breaks for the wealthy that concentrates more money into their hands. 6. Union busting. But none of these problems will be directly addressed by the Right-Wingers because they put too much faith in the free market to solve them. Her reference to Columbus is insulting, and she should know better. Columbus shows the hypocrisy of those who say they are guided by faith. It was not faith ...

....that drove him. It was the greed of a capitalist and entrepreneur whose priorities were ‘gold, glory, and then god.’ Nor did he earn his fame and wealth honestly but stole it by enslaving Native Americans, then Africans, in a system of forced labor. The same could be said of many of the American colonists, an exception, of course, being the Quakers who settled Pennsylvania. --Zen

She isn't referring to religious faith! One can have "faith" without religion involved. She is using the term loosely such as "When I put the key in my car's ignition I have "faith" that the engine will come on and I will drive away. Faith in her case is the belief in something that has no concrete proof it is real ie: Columbus sailed from the Old World with "faith" that another land mass was before him!!!

Zen, you Socialists (G.W. Bush included) have had several years to impose Marxism and Unionism on us. The results- half of the country on welfare of some kind, half of the economy owned by government, half of our national wealth gone, 22% to 50% unemployment and ten trillion dollars in national debt. The falling wages, the housing bubble and the other problems listed were all caused by you Liberals.

D-482: if you want to retain credibility, then don't call GWB socialist. That is just plain idiotic.

Everything you say could be placed at the hands of big government. Wages and benefits fall because the private sector must compete for capital with a bloated ever taxing government. The government caused the housing benefit by promoting house ownership well beyond reason and assuming the risk for Fannie and Freddy. Education costs have gone up because the government keeps subsidizing it. Wealth concentration is because people differ in their talents, not some evil conspiracy. Union busting is essential for the survival of jobs. This right winger just addressed your concerns. Welcome to reality.

And the government is going to address this evil by redistributing the wealth of the successful!? How much do you want from me?

One would think a Zen master wouldn't be so blinded by ignorance.

Acts of faith are performed each day in this country, and we are all the better for it. But sadly, Barack Obama does not seem to have faith in the American system, nor does he believe in American exceptionalism, nor does he believe that Americans can make it on their own without government handouts.

In short, Obama doesn’t have faith in us.

Faith has become an inflammatory topic in the 2012 election. In policy, speeches and campaign ads, the president has used faith as a means to demagogue his Republican opponent. Faith has been used by the left-wing extremists
