You realize of course that there were no parties at the founding of our nation? That George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams (to name a few) were disgusted by the idea of political parties, naming them 'factions' that were dangerous to the political system? In fact, Thomas Jefferson is quoted as saying "if I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all" and Washington said that parties "agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another" And yeah, I think that voting on what a candidate does and says, rather than whatever color they're affiliated with is the right thing to do.
